Train up , bus back, right side. Think about paying extra for the car with docent, history commentator.
We're on a path. Manual transmissions (stick shift) were fine when I started driving in the early 50's. Then came "fluide drive, hydromatic drive" and their growing pains. "Never in the right gear when I want it", etc. Outside of off road vehicles tried to buy a stick shift lately? If the mfg's can get that floppy mirror out of there, save some weight, provide constant live view, etc., they're gonna.
Beware mopeds, esp when crossing streets. Not too expensive to hire a driver to get around. Find some terraced rice paddies. We were there for sometime and didn't hear about/see any waterfalls. Not saying they don't exist. Find a festival esp at a Temple. Find a fishing village.
Thanks, rcl285, I like the foam board idea. Appreciate your thoughts.
Thanks for the camera set up idea, sounds good and I really appreciate it.
Can someone help an old codger understand the setup for digitalizing slides with a camera. If you're projecting them on a screen where's the camera not going to cast a shadow. At this age (80+) it's enough that I can get the newspaper.
At 83 I remember it being an advantage to "know something" about your car's mechanics, ie., spark plug gaps, distributor caps, battery fluid, where the oil cap was, don't open the radiator when the engine was hot, etc. Now who ever even lifts the hood. Still not bad to at least understand what Auto "does" but hardly as useful as car knowhow 60 years ago.
We'll be coming from Maryland by air so not unlimited flexibility but I do appreciate the heads up about web sites and color predictions. They do the same here for cherry blossoms and I'll wait to get some sense of timing before comitting to airlines. Thanks again.
Thank you both. Great tips. We'll make time to do sort of a circle from Denver/Durango/Aspen/Denver. Probably wait until 4th week of Sept.
Would like to see and photograph Aspen trees this Fall probably around Aspen Colorado. Thinking the 3rd/4th week of September might be good and Aspen doesn't have to be the only place. Thanks for your thoughts.
8 days in NZ is very limited especially if you drive. Mostly 2 lane roads with no shoulders, figure an average speed of 40 MPH at best.
Thanks everyone for your help. Great shot of the building. Yes, I think the issue may be partly card speed and I will upgrade them but I'm thinking the A6500 may be the real answer. Thanks again.
Thanks. Probably more tele and weight than I need but good to know it would solve my issue.
Generally happy with a Sony RX 10 for travel but with kids the write speed/cycle time misses the moment for the perfect smile/gesture too often. Wondering if the A 6000 + series would correct/improve that. I used my Nikon D610 with pop up at Christmas and it was a chore and distraction. Thanks.
The buildings and monuments are illuminated after dark and in my view are often better images.
