Congrats to the bride and groom. They look very happy. I hope for them to have long, happy and healthy lives together. Oh and by the way great photos too.
I feel your pain....I live just outside the evacuation area of the El Dorado fire buring in southern California. We haven't seen blue skies since Saturday late morning or early afternoon. Our granddaughter was here so we were out at the pool earlier than ususal because of the heat. That fire started, so they claim around 10:30 AM, by 11:00 AM we smelled the smoke and I thought one of my neighbors was smoking some meat, by 12 or 12:30 the skies around us turned gray and overcast just as your photo depicts. By 2:30 or 3:00 PM we had ash falling in our yard. My pool looked like it hadn't been cleaned in weeks with so much ash. Other than going to our mailroom to pick up mail, we haven't been outside since as it smells like someone has their fireplace going. In the first couple of days of the fire we could see flames from our driveway, especially at night. However, the fire has moved and has burned some 11,000 acres plus...now we just see lots of smoke and the smell of smoke is very strong. Stay safe out there. Thanks for sharing your experiences and photos of the fire and I hope you don't mind that I shared my experiences.
A few years back someone post a site called "
https://www.shothotspot.com/". Once you open the site and put in the city it gives you all sorts of options for places to take photos with filters for landscape, sunsets, etc. It's a pretty handy tool when you're in a unfamilar area. Have fun trip
When I first got married, 54 years ago, a dear family friend and I were talking. He was much older than I at the time, crap he still is, but that's another story. Anyway, we were talking about how expensive something my wife wanted. He said to me "peace at any price". That was, like I said 54 years ago. It's a motto I've tried to live by all these years and so far it's worked. In the grand scale of things what's a few dollars here or there to make your wife happy for her birthday and she'll remember forever. And you'll just be a little lighter in the pocket book. Just say Happy Birthday when she gets home :)
By the way, thanks for sharing this....I've lived thru scenerio's very simular to this too. I feel your pain, but in the long run let it go and life will be good.
When I saw these great photos, I said to myself, I want to go especially since the museum is in CA. Then I looked up where Woodland, CA was located. Not so close to me, I'm in southern CA. So my next trip up that way I will have to find this place. What great memories. Thanks for sharing the memories and great photos.
Welcome to site....I live just up the freeway from you at the top of the pass (Beaumont). Can't wait to see your photos
Thanks for the update...I knew he had some health issues a while back and hope he hadn't lost the battle with them. I'm glad to hear that he's still doing well and found some different interests rather than health issues. Thanks for the response
Personally I prefer color over B&W. This is an outstanding photo. Thanks for sharing
I was cleaning up some things and notice this post again. I was wondering if anyone ever heard from Erv? I still haven't seen or heard from him in a long time. Thanks for the update
The window must have been closed and the blinds drawn as there is no photo.
My kid brother has several RC cars...he has dropped thousands of dollars into these cars. I lived in my house for 2 or 3 years not knowing there was a RC track just outside of our gates from my community in the back of a local park. My brother that lives more than 100 miles from me had to tell me about it. When they have events, that park is packed with people. I had no idea how popular this hobby is with so many nor did I realize how expensive of a hobby either. Great shots. Next time there is an event at the RC park I might just try some of my poor photo skills and see if I can come close to your photos. I really enjoyed see your photos. Thanks for sharing.
Nice work. By no means am I a pro with Photoshop. I have lots to learn. However, I use this technique all the time. I create pages with text and photos I've taken at events here in my senior community. So I usually create two pages of what we call "Enjoying Our Lifestyle" for our community monthly magazine. To make my life easier, I created a templet and all I have to do is use my templet and the clipping mask. I can then easily put my photos into the pages and add whatever text as needed. Fun stuff and keeps me out of trouble.
Was this supposed to have a photo? or just make me smile...OK I'm smiling
At least we have racing...yes better with fans in the stands but under the circumstances better than no racing at all. Looking forward to tomorrow's race.
I'm certainly not a computer expert and that is an understatement for me. However, I would look at the size (dimensions) and manufacturer of the SSD in the deck top and the check with them via an email to see if it is compatible. My guess it would not be compatible for the shear difference is size. Laptop HD are usually smaller in size. Like I said, I'm not expert, but that would be my direction if I wanted to do something as you state. Let us know if you were able to get it to work.
