Ok....if anyone is still watching this thread...here is an updated version where I cleaned most of the stars off of the moon and added a slightly bluer hue....for Minnie. :)

I like it a lot (though purple is my least favorite color and I am wanting to push it to blues, knowing that is just my bias), and I'm jealous of what you're figuring out how to do. Building these kinds of fantasy images is one of my several goals. Though I'm headed in a somewhat different direction, the skills needed are exactly the same. Mr. Fox is quite wonderful, and his shadow. The sand, the fence with the broken slat - wonderful.

One question and one suggestion:
The prints are great, but how did he get from them into this position without any other marks? (I don't have an answer, willing to concede magic)

For me, the moon is too big and too elongated. I don't mind it being un-naturally large, that is part of the fantasy, but it seems to overpower. Also, as moons set they become squashed rather than stretched, so if I applied any distortion it would be to elongate the horizontal rather than the vertical.

Great work, please keep sharing these. I may get brave enough to join you after I practice a bit more. You are way ahead of me. Selection tools can drive me to drink.

Thanks Minnie! All I can say is give it a try when it's raining out. :) It's funny you mention the shape of the moon...I didn't alter it's shape purposely. hmmm...

I really like the concept, it makes an interesting fantasy image. There is a couple of items I would change; If those white specks in the sky were to represent stars
then the moon should not have any specks in front of it, also I would like to see the moon slightly smaller.

haha...I couldn't figure out the blending mode for adding the moon without the stars, from the sky, showing through. I'm taking away the stars from "in front" of the moon as I type this. What a pain! lol

Thanks for looking. :)

It was raining yesterday and I was bored....
This is a "photo art" or "photo manipulation" or "composite" image, I created from 4 different shots that I took.

Thanks, I'm glad you like my work.

Regarding your Photoshop/art YouTube has some great tutorials to help bring your creativity to the next level. this first link is for Glyn Dewis who is really great, explains things in a simple manner and is also a photographer. This is his link: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC9eJ0QMxVANECYICsnM1yzA Blue Lightning is also a really great online tutorial resource which deals strictly with Photoshop. Here's their link: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCDfJlseFwUx2X0h3m5PRILA

Both of these will help you expand your creativity. Best of luck.

I got a chance to shoot some Boudoir last weekned. Here is my first processed shot. Feedback and comments appreciated.

Nice setting, good expression on the model who is well posed except her right hand looks awkward. Perhaps if she relax her hand and fingers to fall naturally onto the sheet.

Yes, that's the link. It takes some time navigating to where it sits. Adobe makes it difficult to find to discourage those who reject the idea of being digital serfs.

Phaseone, who produces Capture One Pro, offers an outright license purchase OR a subscription, depending on the user's preference.
https://www.phaseone.com/en/Products/Software/Capture-One-Pro/Highlights.aspx?gclid=CjwKEAiAq8bEBRDuuOuyspf5oyMSJAAcsEyW3Ah4sCbvYiqbmbmtM8id05WL19Ljpy6jWbr6bFchtxoCqVDw_wcB

This is a Danish company so their approach takes their user base into consideration rather than dictating the terms most favorable for themselves as Adobe does. Capture One has a learning curve, but it also has the most versatile RAW processor on the planet. I use both programs, and have processed the same file in Lightroom AND in Capture One. The difference is visible without magnification.

I still prefer Lightroom's interface, but that is likely due more to familiarity than utility.

I just got the C version in December because it was on sale. If the price goes up I'll migrate to another system.

I'm starting to have more and more interest in photo manipulation/art. I'm just not that good at photoshop yet. There is so much to learn and remember.

This is beautiful!

Here is a problem that I came across this morning. I like the foreground of this photo, and I like the pre-dawn color in the sky. My question is: "What should be done about the mess in the middle". I don't think the middle of the photo really adds anything to the composition. Would you crop? Would you photoshop the middle into oblivion? Any ideas would be a help. Feel free to edit if you wish.
Erich

Are you speaking about the rocks? The surf? I think the surf and rocks add energy to the shot. It's where my eye goes first. Then again I am partial to rocks and surf.

I don't want to post shots in your thread Erich. But here is a link to a shot of mine that is very similar to yours.... I like what you did there.
