Looks like a brake-shoe holder???

Wouldn't be at all surprised! The only positive identification I made was the RR spike near by. (smile)

"Nikon cameras and lenses have been behind more Pulitzer Prize-winning photographs than all the other camera brands combined."
You can't argue with that!

A good camera in the hands of a lousy photographer will produce lousy photographs. A cheap camera in the hands of a good photographer will produce good photographs.

It's not the brand of camera that takes good photos, it is the photographer.
True.

Thought I would post something a little different than my norm.

Straight from the camera.

Welcome to day 9 of our year long challenge. This has been a very interesting journey for me. Not only am I challenging myself to get out and photograph something every single day but also to see things in different ways.
So here is my entry for today ... To me this tree represents the Ugly Hedgehog. It's got a good strong base, it is growing a multitude of different directions. Some good, some maybe not so good, some may even be questionable.... but together we are stronger and help each other continue to grow.

Gee guys. Mr. Clemons spent a good part of his life venting. I see the vent in a different light. Maybe appropriate.

As a newbie I often struggle with framing and composition when taking a picture. Below is a mural I saw and took a few pictures. 1st one is one of my attempts and the second one is so you can see a larger area. It was in direct sunlight and I plan on going back when the light is not so harsh. Any ideas on how I should frame the picture? Both are straight from the camera with no editing. Feel free post any suggestions. Mike

Forget about removing the "smear" I think Mr. Clemons might say "Thank you for giving some dignity to the years. I am sure there are some that would have gloried in the fact that I didn't get that aged." I do agree about the vent, still like it and I love the subject. Keep up the good work.
