The Quadrangle, the hardest part with nebulosity, is great Jim, really nice job. Noise is very acceptable for general viewing at 100%.
Which filter did you get, I want one. And no satellites.

Here's a couple from the return trip I can send now that I'm on my computer. No haze.

PS: Sorry the link doesn't seem to work. You can find it as one of the ones that comes up on a UHH search for "Haze". It was back in 2012.

MtnMan these are spectacular shot, they deserve to be in the Grand Canyon Museums.

I just got my 5D a week ago. I am still playing with it trying to learn it. I put the Tamron 150-600mm lens on it for the first time this morning.

I got lucky at my feeders this morning and had a cardinal, blue jay and a Black-capped Chickadee come in.

I have always had trouble getting a good shot of this Chickadee because of its coloration. The gray and blacks seem to run together and the eye tends to disappear in the black head. Here are a few photos I got this morning. They are among the best shots, if not the best, I have ever gotten of this bird. It looks like this lens is going to work well on the 5D!

What do you think? C&C welcome!

A shoulder bag is relatively easy pickings for a snatch and grab thief. If it works for you, I suggest a slingbag. Smaller, but handier then a backpack. It can't be grabbed off your shoulder when worn properly and you can get your camera out without having to take it off or set it on the ground. I have a Lowpro Slingshot 202 which I find to be perfect for a camera and an extra lens or 2.

I second your motion.

John took Jack and Al and I for a little hike. He likes to run there and has often been told there are bears that have been seen there. He takes Maddie canoeing there!

We all think where we live is dismal most of the time. I find your work with the Mushrooms is very creative.

Craig, I need to clarify a bit. I do mostly video astronomy with said video cameras, although I'm heading into uncharted waters with my Meade pictor CCD camera. It's going in my lil' refractor 80 for auto guiding my 8 in. Astrograph that's being shipped from Orion. I'm getting into Deep Space long exposure AP with my T510NG color digital. I will still continue video AP , I find it so rewarding and hope one day to send my grandson images of DSO's. It's just going to take a couple years to get everything required to do it with a quality result.

That sounds like a real semi pro setup to me. You are well on the way to your goal.
The Levenhuk T510 NG Telescope Digital Camera will be really nice with the Orion Scope.
Will you use the Stacking software that comes with it or something else?
