I would think if they did the "fine print disclaimer" they could get around whatever the politicians have in mind - seems the "fine print" clause is a "gotcha" for everything now days...

I think you are asking about registering your photo's as the copyright is there when the picture is taken - ???

It is recommended that if you are going to put the photo's in a commercial or art gallery environment or post them on-line (anywhere but your own website) and do not want others to profit from your work, then you should register them...
If you are not going to put them "out" there, there is no need to register.

I don't yet publish/post my photos so I have not registered them but that is a personal decision. If I decide that I want to publish/post/sell/make money off of my work, I will definitely register them and apply copyright watermarks.

If you want to register them, you can batch register to save money -

Hope this is what you are looking for...

Wow, that's definitely a chunk of change... I had to get a large keyboard for one of my workers a few years back and we found one that had large keys at this site:

The keyboard is USB so no batteries required...

Must be the government cutbacks stopping the FTC from doing their job...

The FTC site on Truth In Advertising

When consumers see or hear an advertisement, whether it’s on the Internet, radio or television, or anywhere else, federal law says that ad must be truthful, not misleading, and, when appropriate, backed by scientific evidence. The Federal Trade Commission enforces these truth-in-advertising laws, and it applies the same standards no matter where an ad appears – in newspapers and magazines, online, in the mail, or on billboards or buses. The FTC looks especially closely at advertising claims that can affect consumers’ health or their pocketbooks – claims about food, over-the-counter drugs, dietary supplements, alcohol, and tobacco and on conduct related to high-tech products and the Internet, such as the dissemination of spyware. The FTC also monitors and writes reports about ad industry practices regarding marketing of food, violent movies, music, and electronic games to children.

When the FTC finds a case of fraud perpetrated on consumers, the agency files actions in federal district court for immediate and permanent orders to stop scams; prevent fraudsters from perpetrating scams in the future; freeze their assets; and get compensation for victims.

{England is small and the local folks started running out of places to bury people. So they would dig up coffins and would take the bones to a bone-house, and reuse the grave. When reopening these coffins, 1 out of 25 coffins were found to have scratch marks on the inside and they realized they had been burying people alive. So they would tie a string on the wrist of the corpse, lead it through the coffin and up through the ground and tie it to a bell. Someone would have to sit out in the graveyard all night (the graveyard shift)... to listen for the bell; thus, someone could be, “saved by the bell” or was considered "a dead ringer".}

This was also the source of the "Graveyard Shift"

Excellent shots - they are beautiful birds and we have many of them here in Kansas. When I drive to town (10 miles), I count at least 2 per mile sitting on the power-line poles.

Have seen some big ones in my trees and doing some photo analysis, I estimate a couple of them around 2ft tall - would guess their weight at 20lbs +

I know my cats don't like them - when they're in the area, the cats go inside -

My .02 worth -

If you must argue, remember that it is impossible to defeat an ignorant man in argument

If you must argue, remember, for onlookers, it is impossible to tell which one is the idiot.

I'm not complaining, I'm just asking... Issa is headline news almost daily because of his antics. IMO, I would post a more current example of how stupid he is...

Ahhh, but slavery was common through out Europe back in the day, so it was not isolated as a US issue - it's just we made world news with the civil war and made for good topic at the morning coffee...

And the slaves who were "kidnapped", were taken by black traders who then sold them to black ships captains who brought them north to sell them to the black handlers / traders and sellers who would then auction them off.

Since this was common practice in Europe, and we migrated from Europe, we were just following traditions... And it was not seen as being wrong at the time...

Speaking of traditions, it is my understanding that "serfs" provided pretty much free labor to feed the coffers of the nobility in Europe much like the slaves in the Americas. So I don't see much difference between serf or slave - except the spelling and perspective...

History, or hindsight, is always 20-20, and as the English say - "It was not our finest hour". And unfortunately, slavery is still present in some parts of the world.

All we can do is live right, provide positive examples for our children and hope for the best...
