Spring is finally making it's way to the far north. It felt good to get out and take a few photos. While not a great photo, I have to share....just because of the long and non-photo taking winter! The birds are arriving back here daily.

Excellent shots - they are beautiful birds and we have many of them here in Kansas. When I drive to town (10 miles), I count at least 2 per mile sitting on the power-line poles.
Have seen some big ones in my trees and doing some photo analysis, I estimate a couple of them around 2ft tall - would guess their weight at 20lbs +
I know my cats don't like them - when they're in the area, the cats go inside -

Thanks everyone for looking! My first hawk of the season....photographed some Sharptail today but they weren't dancing!

I went to check out the Sharpies today as well. No action! That's two days in a row where they were either not on the Lek or were only there for a short time. I'm thinking they are beginning to wind down?
