Intel core i7 4790. The socket for it is suppose to what the next gen is to use. But heard that before. AMD does make one with the same socket, not sure of it's name or number. This Intel cpu has on board graphics no need of graphics card.

topcat The desk top version is gone. Now it is web based. There is a method of transferring your saved locations, but I think that it is just as easy to set them again, unless you have a lot.
But is is still available, only web based.

Thank you got it on the computer. I wish both of them had been available in the 70's and 80's would have made photo site shoots easier, not just waiting.

Has anyone used this site before?
It looks pretty informative for landscape photographers.

First I have heard of it. I will check deeper into it, first impression is very good. Thanks for the share.

Wouldn't having a camera that does not exceed your capabilities make you a better photographer because it will force you to be more creative and over come those camera in-capabilities? Just asking is all :)

Currently I am shooting in both JPG and RAW. The jpg gives me instant results after downloading to the computer, versus having to convert the NEF files. Most of the time I am using the jpg file, however when there is a extra special picture I will go back to the NEF file convert to TIFF and then PP on this

With that said, I have read you can extract a jpg file from the NEF files. At least I think I read that. Is this extraction process the same jpg file when shooting in both.

My sense is NO, but I figured I would ask.

TIA

Depending on which program you use on a raw file, you could say there is an embedded tif, png, jpg gif or bmp all in various sizes. Just a thought!!!!!!!

Little did the Platters know in 1955 that this song would be so popular and appropriate in 2014, 59 years later.

You folks of longer tooth will remember the words and will probably be singing along with the Platters.
