I use a Sony 24-240. It’s full frame lense, but it works on my a6000. It’s a bit heavy, but versatile. Good quality pics. With a6000 crop factor and built in Clear image zoom, you can get the equivalent of over 700mm, with a pretty good quality picture

I assume that you will be on ship. Make sure to not store your camera in your air conditioned room. If you do, it will fog up on the inside and will take a while to clear when you go outside. If it happens, try exposing the lens to the warm sun. Have fun

I have the Sony 24-240 Lens. It is a full frame lense. I believe that the 7iii has clear image zoom, so it doubles the focal length to 480, without much degradation. The lense, although not light, is definitely lighter and smaller than the 100-400. It is pretty sharp. Check it out

I was there for the last bloom. I live 1 hour away. It is unusual and only happens after very wet winters. 17 was one and 19 is expected to yield another great bloom. I don’t know that I would make the trip from Western Colorado just to see it, but if you were planning a short visit to nearby San Diego, it should be included in your itinerary. The flowers are impressive and you will see some unusual desert blooms. You will see large, colorful fields of wild flowers Go on line and google Anza Borrego Desert bloom, or something like that, and you will get an idea of what it is like. The other famous dessert bloom is in Death Valley, but I have not heard what they expect this year

If you plan to visit the Canadian side, bring your passport. We forgot ours last year. Also, if you are in decent shape, do the Iceberg Lakes or Grinnel? Lake hike, with or without a guide. About 10 miles round trip, not too steep. Bring bear spray!

The lens will do just fine. I used mine. The only issue I found is that the Safari outings are early morning (5:30-6:00) and the afternoon drives end at dusk. Sometimes you run out of light. A faster lense for backup may be useful and it need not have that long a reach. If you are going on a private Safari, you will be so close to the animals that you won’t need that much reach.

It’s hard to figure out, but once you do, it works well. I frequently have to reconnect my device, but it has become second nature. When the connection does not work, I turn onwifi, go to WiFi function, disconnect the device, reconnect, and that’s it. You have to make sure that you are switching WiFi from whatever you are connected to to your camera, which should show up on the available networks. Open the cannon appand wait a few seconds for the images on camera option to light up. Press it and the photoswill show up on your device, where you can choose the ones you want. I hope this helps,

We were just there. Wind factor made it around 32 degrees. We left Kaanapali at about 2:45, arrived at about 4:20. There were only a few cars there.by 5:30, there were lots more people, but not Horrible, even after the buses arrived. Do not make the mistake of going all the way to the top parking lot. No sunrise view from there. We stayed right by the visitor center, which opens at 6 am and is warm. I found a place right on the rail and set up my tripod. We were told by a park worker that there is a viewing place about two miles below the visitor center, where you can get the best views, but I can’t remember the name. Do some research about best sunrise viewing spots. There is a lot posted on-line. The sunrise was cool, when we went, but not to die for. After freezing, stop byKula Lodge, on the volcano road, for breakfast. Enjoy.

No lense restriction. If you are with an organized tour, they will probably bring you down to the Sacred Valley, upon landing, to acclimate to the altitude. If so, visit Ollantaytambo, an amazing Inca fortress. If you are on your own, consider going to Sacred Valley right away. The altitude at Cuzco can be a problem. Machu is quite a bit lower. Think about trying to stay at the Belmont Hotel at the ruins (the only one). Otherwise, you will be there with the crowds. There is nothing like being in Machu after the buses leave after 3 pm, or so. Staying there enables you to do a hike to the Sun Gate before sunrise, where, if not too foggy, you can get some great views of Machu from above. It’s a fairly easy hike. While in Cuzco, if you start feeling ill (upset stomach, dizzy, etc.) don’t hesitate to hit the oxygen. Hotels have oxygen for their guests. Have fun

I have a Sony 6000 that I like very much. My lenses are the two kit ones, 16-50 and the 55-100. I also have the Sigma 60mm Art lens that I use for portraits of grand daughter.
Most of my photography with this camera is walk around, public places.
If and when I move up with the mirrorless camera, I'll look at full frame. So I am thinking as I purchase new lenses I should buy full frame ones.

The Sony 28-70mm FE is one I am considering. It is an emount that will fit the 6000, and I know that my images will be cropped.
Has anybody used this lens?
And have others used full frame lenses on apsc cameras and what experiences have you had?
Thanks
I have a Sony 6000 that I like very much. My lense... (show quote)

I have the Sony 24-240, which is a full-frame lense. It is my walk around lense, though a bit heavy for the light A6000. With the crop factor and Clearimage zoom capabilities of the camera, I can get well over 600 focal length. When I need a wider angle shot, I just put it in pano mode and use portrait direction. It really does everything I need and is quite sharp. About $800, I think.

The 24-240 is a very good lense ( my walk around). With Clear Image, it gets you close to 500. It is a full frame lense, so if you ever upgrade, the lense will stay with you

I’m using the Sony 24-240 lens. It is a bit heavy, but very versatile. It is made for full frame cameras, so you have the equivalent to a 36-360. When I need a wider angle, I use the panorama function in the portrait direction. Also, when I need a longer reach, i use the Clearimage Zoom, giving me around 600mm zoom. Aside from weight, I find this lense very useful.
