I shoot the exact same Equitpment I do not have the problem. I keep the lens on manual focus and the camera on one shot, I use a remote trigger. If time permits I zoom in 5x to nail focus prior to shooting.

Enjoy the lens. I have the contemporary version. I use it with a 70D, 5Div, and 5DS. At 600 it’s best results are manual focus on a gimbal mount with heavy tripod.

Abe’s of Main was once a good outfit. Back then I bought several cameras from them. They were sold to a bait and switch, gray market, and what should be in the box is missing stuff owner. STAY AWAY. I use Adorama and B&H. If in NYC go to B&H it’s the most amazing store with extremely knowledgeable helpful people in every department.

I have been using Eneloops for almost all my electronics and all camera gear, such as my canon speed lights my canon power packs, Electric shades ( they need 8 AA each) , and flashlights. I have never had one go bad. They hold charge when not being used and most important they don’t leak. I bought them on amazon and B&H photo and from time to time at Costco. They are cheaper over the long haul because you can recharge them hundreds of times.

The only reason to shoot raw + jpeg is if you are sending “direct from camera” a picture to social media or a friend.

I bought an item on wish about 3 month ago and it took about 5 weeks to arrive. Other then that it was fine but they were just Drexel bits. The other thing is that the prices were cheap and the shipping expensive. If you find it on amazon prime it’s about the same total price and you get it fast with no issue about a return

I have several of the “Art” Sigma lenses and they are excellent. Almost equal to canon at about 60% of the price. In some reviews just as sharp. Build quality is considered equal to canon L glass. The downside is they are extremely heavy, take longer to focus, are not quite as fast, Have A tiny bit less weather sealing and the resale is less. I have the canon 100-400mm f/L 4.5-5.6 I USM and it’s a super lens. canon often has them refurbished with same warranty on their websight.

Go with the canon 100-400L instead. For nature and wildlife the 70-200mm even on a crop sensor is too short.

My mirrorless travel cameras are Sony RX100’s. I have the mark 3,4 & 7. The 7 has more reach and amazing eye recognition. They are all very Very small with a great fixed non changeable fast lens. I highly recommend them.

A tv is a poor choice to view pictures properly. I suggest a large 4k monitor that is color corrected and make sure that your video driver can handle it, I use gaming type from Navida that can run mulitple 4k monitors and solid state drives are a must otherwise you will not be able to flip from picture to picture without stalling. 32 mg ram is minimum for the computer

I solved my lag problems with new windows 10 gaming style computer. 2T Samsung SSD’s, expensive Navidida video gaming card to run 3x4K calibrated monitors foe editing , and most important 32 Mg ram. Everything else I did previously worked with a lag.

100-400mm is too big for a normal stabilization device. I have shot thousands of photos from my boats successfully without it because the water makes it brighter (most of the time) and you can use a faster shutter speed - go up to a shutter speed of 1.5 or 2 x the mm length.

Been there more than ten times on my boats most if the time so there with all my gear. That said Leave the “big zooms” home for key west. There is little reason to need a longer reach than 80mm
