Great photos. Thanks for posting. I have seen many photos of this canyon but none better than these. Like you, I have wanted to go for years. These photos may push me over the edge.
I love your Osprey photos. They are magnificent. I do have a technical question about the first photo above to help me in my bird shots. Even though you shot it at f11 and a speed over 1200 the leading wing tip was not in focus. I would have thought the depth of field would be enough at f11 to capture the entire bird. Was the wing moving too fast for that speed? To be clear, this does not detract from the photo at all; I just am still learning about depth of field and speed on bird photography.
I have been photographing one in Northern California with the same type orange mark on its shoulder. Any idea what that is and what caused it?
Another option is the Bass Hunter Boat. I bought one because it is the most stable small boat I could find. I am 225 pounds and I can stand on the gunnels. I bought mine for Bass fishing but I think it would work well for photography. I just paddle mine but it will take a small outboard. The negatives are that you sit up high (good for photography but bad for stealth and you catch the wind), and it will not fit in your car's trunk. https://www.sportsmansguide.com/product/index/bass-hunter-120-pontoon-boat?a=2128210&pm2d=CSE-SPG-15-PLA&utm_medium=PLA&utm_source=Google&utm_campaign=CI&gclid=CL-9h6WErNQCFQ8uaQoda-0DNg
This happens to me as well. It depends on which card is inserted first. The first one inserted will get the recording regardless of the priority set in the menu. Here is a post explaining:
"The easiest way for me is which card get inserted first
Close the camera door and that card will be the primary
--> The 2nd card you insert after re-opening the door will be your secondary."
I just discovered Grant Atkinson, thanks to this site. I have looked at literally dozens of posts on operating Canon Cameras over the past 10 years and I have never seen better explanations. The AF systems on Canon high end models are very complex but Grant provides a clear, concise, methodical, and understandable road maps. If you shoot Canon 5 or 7 series cameras, I suggest you take a look at his videos.
I would make two points. First, I have used more than dozen Seagate HDs. They used to be the best but as another post said, they fell short with their 3 TB drives. The other Seagates are OK but still not as good as HGST,
