Thanks. I see the purple fringe. Didn’t know that about that aperture. Yeah that say to shoot the wide aperture for what you bought it for. Maybe not. My name is Lee. I think Gerardo may be the person who owned the camera before me.

I did this session yesterday. Nice couple. They laughed a lot. Never seen a couple so happy to be together. Comments and critique welcome.

I’ve used EF lenses on my crop sensor camera for decades. I rent them from the camera store as well. Odd that they never mentioned this to me as a problem. They saw my camera. When they didn’t see my camera body they never asked me what sensor I had. Personally it’s never come up for discussion until now.

The adapter can create some time errors. I used to have some extra adapter when one isn’t working today next time is it working. Don’t ask me why.

What are time errors?

No issues, as Ron stated. Here is a photo I took some time back of an SD/Micro SD adapter. Notice that the SD card has 9 contacts but the Micro only has 8. Perhaps someone has an answer to that. I don't. Regardless, in use there is no noticeable difference between the two.
Edit: In looking closer I see that the right-hand contact also is part of the write-lock of the SD card, which the Micro doesn't have, so no need for the extra contact. Mystery solved!

Your micro SD card looks unusual.

I have four micros in their own adapters, never had any problems.
(Initially inserted into the adapter, never been removed.)
There is NO signal delay from using an adapter!

That’s extra confidence. Thanks

I don’t use SD cards in my cameras normally but my second slot in one camera is an SD card slot. My question is I have a couple of micro SD cards, one is 128 GB and the other is 32 GB. Would you recommend putting them into an adapter and then inserting them into the card slot in the camera? Or is this not a smart thing to do?

Where are you going to get educated . No more correspondence schools maybe you might find a community college with courses but I really doubt it. Quit trying to pee into the wind

There is a correspondence school.

Would you be willing to buy your customer a new replacement Camera if you screwed up your repair? Legally you might have no choice. Practically, your business name would suffer if you did not.
Speaking from experience, I had to replace a $900 circuit board when my micro-tip soldering iron overheated a board lead junction, and I had a college degree in Electronic Engineering! All profit from 10 previous repairs went out the window. Serious Electronic micro-circuitry courses are recommended for today’s cameras. Then there’s your electronic tools, and analyzers; not cheap.

I have a two year degree in electronic engineering. But I forgot most of what I learned. It had to do with memory chips and microprocessors.

I've been repairing camera equipment for over 30 years now and, while you won't get rich doing so, it does pay the bills. It's also very complicated. You need to be comfortable working with micro electronics and miniaturized mechanical parts. The initial investment in test equipment and specialized tools is steep and then there's the cost of learning how to use them. When I first got into camera repair there was a college course with a degree in photographic equipment technology as well as a National Camera course but those days are long gone and it will probably be a trial and error process to learn what you need to know. That gets expensive too.

Thanks. It’s nice to hear from someone who is actually doing it.

As I said earlier I do not think camera repair is going to be a good career. I do think learning camera repair is a good thing if you don't intend to make money with it. Now if I want to learn camera repair where do I start? Is there such a school?

I saw one school that charges $99 each for 20 lessons on DVD and business support to help find customers and learn the business of camera repair.

Don’t even think about it. You wanna do it as a hobby, fine; but as a business it’ll be no joy. Cameras are very delicate. I’ve tried my hand at repairing lenses and learned good lessons. For both, lenses and camera bodies it takes a very steady hand, some experience, and a good selection of special tools and calibration gear. That already means a significant investment before you even start. Also, as some readers have already mentioned, getting parts in a timely fashion might be difficult.
I’ve been fortunately able to find a local fellow with years of experience in lens/camera repair who also happens to have a thriving sales/exchange establishment. Works out of a large converted detached garage that could easily be the envy of any regular photo shop. Fun place to visit and browse (got a great deal on a like-new Canon 85mm/f1.8).
May not mean much but I just wanted to share my thoughts with you. I love this website.
Cheers!
