If you buy Canon Direct refurbished, you will have to pay taxes and shipping. However, the price that you will pay should off-set just about all of the taxes and shipping and your cost might still be cheaper.

Maybe you're right. I'm fairly new to forums and didn't expect to see the remarks given to some of the questions. I'll continue be a member and try to remember that I have an ignore list I can add those people that I don't want to hear from to it. Thanks for the advise. Ken

This is actually one of the friendliest photo forums. The majority of the people here try to be helpful. If you see that someone is a little too aggressive you can add them to your ignore list. This should keep them from responding in a thread that you start.

Try it for a while, you might like it.

I agree totally. I'm fairly new to this site, and have wanted to ask a few questions. However, after I see other being berated I choose not too. In fact I was seriously thinking of looking elsewhere for another photography forum that is more friendly.

Using a filter in a case like this may have been helpful in eliminating the blown out water. I agree with cropping for the tree trunk, but like the composition.

Didn't have a filter at the time, however, I've purchased several for my different lenses. Next time. Thanks, Ken

I would crop off the left side to remove the distracting tree trunk in the corner.

A very nice, tranquil scene. Looking at it in detail, I think the exposure is a bit on the hot side, as there are quite a few blown out areas in both clouds and water.

Thanks Bob, I'll keep an eye open for things like that in the future.

I'll try this again as my 1st photo didn't upload. Rock river in northern Illinois, north of Rockford. Newly back into phography, this was taken last year and one of my first attempts at using lightroom. Would welcome all comments (good and bad) as this is the only way for me to learn what i'm doing wrong or right. Thanks for looking.

Canon user here. I own a 7d mk II and the grip for it was $209. I recently purchased one from china (from blueopuzoo on ebay) for $98. I was skeptical as it was offered as a genuine canon BG-E-16 grip. When it arrived, it was infact a genuine canon model. No problems so far and enjoying the extra battery power. Learning to hold the camera in a different hold for portraits, but will get used to it. Might try to see if you can find one on ebay if you want one.

Thanks everyone for the welcome wishes. I have been following UHH since around Sep 2015 and just joined in Feb 2017. I've read so much from here and now trying to put what I've read into practice. Looking forward to all feedback to my photo's that I upload (good and bad) so that I can improve. I will upload some soon. Thanks again. Ken

Very beautiful. I was stationed at Barksdale in the early 70's and remember going fishing in that lake. Brought back fond memories. Thanks, Ken
