Over the past year I've found the daily digest in my spam folder a number of times. Why they ends up there is beyond me. I just transfer them to my main file and move on. Haven't missed a day.

Yes, and that is exactly my point. No other site works this way. It's like we are punished liked kindergarten children because an email ended up in spam. And, as you see, I'm not the only one this is happening to. It's not something I'm doing, but yahoo mail is doing and I get the corner for it. I'm not a child and resent being treated like one. It's that simple and to top it off, what is being done is wrong.

Having read this I now understand what is happening. Somehow, when you've meant to send UHH items to trash they've gone to spam. As a result, when UHH has attempted to send you more email, they get sent back to Admin as "undeliverable." In order to stop all of the "undeliverable" emails coming back to him/her, he/she suspends your account until the email situation is fixed. Don't blame Admin in this case. I'm sure it's a result of having to deal with returned emails and not a tantrum. If this has happened more than once, maybe you should use another email account specifically set aside for UHH, such as gmail, which is also free.

It does not work that way; go back and read my post.

Never happened to me yet, but I absolutely understand your frustration and I agree with you, if that is in fact how that is handled it should stop!

Thank you. Someone who actually read my post. And yes, that is the way it works. I got cut off October 20 and still am being blocked. I've sent two notices to the admin already.

You get emails from UHH?
I just go online to UHH, my log in is automated ands everything works fine.
Perhaps I did not tick the box for emails OR I used a now defunct email that is crammed with the damn things.

Just search for the site and log in ...when your browser asks if you want to save your log in details click yes....end of problem

Have fun

Nope, not the case. You, must be on a windows machine; my mac does not have that option either.

If that's the case, I have Yahoo email, and the only way I can see something would go to spam instead of the trash is if you hit the "spam" button instead of the "delete" button. The buttons are right next to each other. I have never hit "delete" and had the item go to spam.

Consider yourself lucky; it has happened to me at least three times.

Have you put UHH's e-mail in your contacts? That will usually keep stuff out of spam. i use Yahoo and I've never had one of their e-mails go to spam.

I'm on a mac, not a windows machine and yahoo has nothing of the kind on my email.

Oh please, only someone extremely naive thinks that a recommended list is a mantra. My sports car manual "recommends" only premium, high octane gasoline. That doesn't mean it won't run just fine on regular. Can I notice a bit of difference ion pickup between fuels? Sure... if i jam the accelerator to the floor. But normal everyday use, imperceptible change. Same with "recommended" lenses. Unless of course you think BMW has pulled the automobile scam of the century!

Compare your gas mileage between the premium and regular. My point here is that there is more than one side to a story, and yes, it's not naiveness, it's new people trying to learn and seeing that list and falling for the bull. That is the people I am alerting. Some people have budgets and spending money on camera gear is a serious venture for them and they take a long time saving the money for it. NOt like so many here who order something new every day to satisfy their.....who knows what....

If you fall for Nikon's "marketing" tactics, you are a fool! I use many of Nikon's past great lenses (on D810) with outstanding results. Historically, autofocus (though a great option) was a tactic to get people to "upgrade" Many of my manual focus Ai-s lenses are far, far better than today's "high tech" plastic lenses.

Don't be a sheeple and be get fooled by "marketing" !

Finally, another person that knows the line up and the truth.

I might have added that I’ve not seen where Nikon has said that any lens not on their list would not also be satisfactory. Undoubtedly there are many older Nikkors and third party lenses perfectly suited for use on the D850.

And that is my point exactly.

I agree with you David. It is a moronic rant! Whitewolfowner has no idea what he is talking about! Both Nikon and Thom Hogan are "suggesting the best lenses for the Nikon D850". They're listing lenses that are technically better than other Nikkor lenses. Neither one is saying that other Nikkor lenses will not work.

This is where you are wrong. There dozens of older lenses that are better than some of those listed. I'll bet the list is made up of the ones that are most backed up in stock.

I could be wrong, but I think it would be fairly safe to assume that most photographers what would spend $3K plus for a D850 would be knowledgeable and smart enough to test the camera and their lenses rather than just taking as gospel what Nikon lists. Obviously you are and other D850 interested photographers probably are too. I think one always need to look to separate marketing hype from facts, especially when spending what for many would be a significant amount of money. I spent months learning about cameras I was considering buying before actually spending my hard earned money.

You can use any lens you want with a D850, that is certain. But don't use a 28-300, zoom it to 300mm and expect the same results as 300mm F2.8 VR II.

As far as your statement that the Nikon list is comprised of "all new lenses" and "not one older lens" you need to look at the list again, and maybe from a more accurate source:

http://www.nikon-image.com/products/slr/lineup/d850/system_lens.html#a1

https://www.dpreview.com/news/5585760175/nikon-releases-official-d850-lens-recommendation-list

Here is a list, compiled from https://www.apotelyt.com/photo-lens/nikkor-af-catalog - and sorted by release date, of the lenses Nikon recommends for the D850. I see lots of old lenses, and of course, all of their newest lenses sharing space on this list.

Of the 32 lenses on the official Nikon list, 23 were introduced on or before 2013, and 14 were introduced on or before 2010. This does not at all agree with your "data" nor does the notion that the newest lenses are, as you put it "way over priced and loaded with bells and whistles instead of great glass and built to last".

The one thing Nikon seems to agree with you on is that the majority of their older high quality, gold ring lenses will work very well the new camera.

I don't feel scammed; I see it to be the BS it is. Seems I didn't get that point across. And I know the good lenses from the not so good to the crap. Yes, lately, compared to what they always put out, they are making crap lenses now.
