What you need is a metadata reader program. One such program for the PC is PhotoME which is a free download. You'll be swamped by the massive amount of data each image has attached to it but if you just want shutter count then search for that. Here's the link....

Hope this helps...

It's magnification that determines DOF the most. That's why view cameras need tilt and shift in order to accomodate the narrow DOF of their lenses. Notice the mm of your normal lens...50mm for FX, 150mm for 4x5 and 80mm for medium format. The mm is relative to magnification whereas the mm for the smaller sensor cams are much lower mm's or magnification and thus much greater DOF(sometimes too much!)
It doesn't matter whether a prime or zoom is used...it's the magnification...

As long as you see Canon building new and improved optics for the EF line I doubt you'll see the mount changed in the forseeable future...so if you are a Canon user, buy the lenses you need...no worries...

As for me, I switched to Nikon when Canon obsoleted my FD glass and even though the Nikon mount is a bit on the small size(in diameter), I also don't see the need for apertures any larger than are currently available...which will allow shallow enough DOF.

It comes to about $2.31/week. I bet you spend much more than that on coffee, I know I do! I can't beat a deal like that and the price is locked in for a year so no price increases for a year. Also, it takes 60+ weeks(depending on what the price is) to get near the price of a boxed copy and that's just for PS. So will you use PS for 5 years before upgrading? Probably not so take the plunge, it's well worth it.

Years ago I got my first pro SLR, a Canon F-1 mechanical. Added a small stable of Canon glass and was quite content....UNTIL, Canon changed their mount when they went to AF. Looking at starting over, I decided Nikon was better since they hadn't abandoned their customers when AF came along. Haven't ever looked back and some of the glass I got for my F4s works on my digital Nikons...so that's why I think Nikon is best...just my opinion...

It's sad but so true, if you help someone who is financially "strapped", then the strapped will line up at your door!

Been there and done that!

The proof is in the pudding...try using the enlarger lenses on a view camera...what's it going to hurt...but I doubt that flat field lenses will tilt and shift without running out of covering power...that's why view camera lenses are so darned expensive...they are designed to tilt and shift while still falling within acceptable circles of confusion...and even they have their limits. Now, if you use a view camera lens with your digital body, you will have excessive covering power meaning you can tilt and shift to your hearts content...but I doubt normal camera lenses and enlarger lenses will afford you with the benefits of your view camera movements.

In order to utilize the swings and tilts your lens must have considerable more covering power....not sure that enlarger lenses are made that way....
