[quote=Reuss Griffiths]I believe that the Wankel engines were first used in the Mazda Miata. They have a great power to weight ratio but somewhat low fuel efficiency. Mazda used them for many years but discontinued them in 2017 but are reintroducing them again. Used in r

Assume you mean a Wankel engine, Also a 4-cylinder engine is not a 4 cycle it is a 4 stroke...there is a big difference

Remember when Sunoco had the dial on the side of the tank. I think 100 octane was the highest - octane and price.

I worked for them. They had two tanks, one with the lowest octane and one with the highest. They were blended at the pump.

And another thing. Ethanol has 15% less caloric value hence it is less efficient as a fuel, and will take more per mile than 100% gasoline.

There are costs to life.

Some of them are necessary and some not.

Some of them make life easier or more enjoyable and some are just costs.

Costs that are probably necessary: Utilities (water, electricity, sewage, real estate taxes [if you rent you pay the taxes through your landlord if not directly]).
Costs that are probably not necessary for everyone but desirable to maintain quality of life: transportation, heat, insurance
Costs that are not necessary for amateur photographers: camera bodies and lenses, software
Costs that are probably necessary for professional photographers: camera bodies and lenses, software. These are reimbursable costs paid by your clients (indirectly).
Costs that are absolutely NOT necessary for anyone: style, fashion (My opinion here -- there may be people for whom these costs are reimbursable professional costs).
Costs of hobbies: fishing, golf, going to sports events or concerts, travel.
I'm sure there are costs I have not enumerated that some could add to my list.

Most of the complaints about subscriptions I hear here are unnecessary costs that make life easier. Again, my opinion. Adobe Photography Plan costs are small enough that they do not impact me.

Heat and quality of life are very necessary to me. Enjoying a hobby I love is absolutely necessary, A good life is more than sleeping and eating and not fussing about $10/month

The problem is that I’m having difficulty grasping what you are referring to when you say that “the extra work and struggle is completely unnecessary”. I have used the D3200 and D5200 without all of the difficulty you profess to have. I own and shoot Canon, Nikon, Olympus and Sony. I don’t find any particularly difficult to use but each system is certainly different operationally from the others.

According to the author, using a low-end camera is a tragedy. Had I known that before I became involved with photography probably would have been better off with crocheting.

He feels that you can't
compose a nice image, set the speed and aperture, etc. For that, you must have a much more expensive camera. Then, at last, you will able to take good photos

So does mine. Great photos can be taken with the 3000 series cameras. The term "starter" camera is the industry's (and some photographers) way of shaming folks into buying something they don't really need.

By the time I just read your post this has unfolded as I would expect. The Lightroom and/or Adobe deniers have appeared dead set on convincing you that it is too complicated, hideous and a diabolical evil plot from Adobe. Simply because they would not or could not understand the Library Module in Lightroom Classic. I am on the other side of the great divide and generally stay out of the fray even though I understand the problem and led a few accomplished photographers to the promised land. But the required Ah Ha moment is difficult to find unless someone were to sit down beside you at a computer for a couple of hours and guide you through. Don

But… the direct answer to your Question is The Lightroom Queen, https://www.lightroomqueen.com/, who has absolutely free e-guides and well written advice. She sells the definitive e-books for both Lightrooms (you do know they’re two?). Just go there and look around.

BTW I am an octogenarian who dislikes the smell of fixer since the ‘50s.

When I posted this I saw that someone beat me to it.

You are absolutely correct. Live is complicated too and we take it one step at a time. The most important part as some have already mentioned, is getting the database flow (library)figured out first. What made this difficult for me was that the database was borin,g and I wanted to get right into the fun stuff, a BIG mistake. Anyone can learn these programs. I did not play the guitar well after my first lesson either
