I had good experience with them. Sold an old Canon 30D camera kit from me. Was offered a reasonable price.
They were prompt and professional.

I did Galapagos with the A6000 and the 18-50 and 55-210 lenses plus 3 batteries.
It worked great for me and got great pictures. My backup was Canon 70D, which I stopped cary towards the end of the trip.
Enjoy New Zealand it's a great place.
Take a backup hard drive also. WD My passport Wireless is lighter than carying a laptop.

They have very good tutorials online. I use PSP 8 Ultimate and I like it. I find it more intuitive than Lightroom. I have both programs and I use PSP mostly.

Thanks. I have a feeling that I am going to end up with the Corel Paintshop Pro program. I just hope that I can find good instruction on how to use it. I'm a totally beginning novice with pp programs.

New -Egg has the Sony A6000 refurb for $399.
Otherwise look for the Refurbished: Sony NEX-F3K/S 16.1-Megapixel Digital Camera - Silver 3X Optical Zoom $199.
I saw these while browsing online for a Sony A6000.
Good Luck!

Switched to Corel Paint Shop Pro X7, more cost effective and does most of the things LR does, some even better.

No. If you ever let your subscription lapse, you will still have LR5. Keep it!

Had good experience with B&H, Adorama and Beach Camera. Super service and reasonable prices.

I am in the market to buy the Sigma 18-300, f3.5 OS lens for my Nikon D7100, and they are as scarce as hens teeth. I saw that 17th Street Photo had them advertised, and said they were in stock. So, I ordered one, and even paid for expedited shipping. When my lens DID NOT arrive, I called to inquire about my order, and the gentleman I was talking to said, "Oh, I am sorry, we are all sold out of that lens." REALLY!! So, I cancelled my order, and I am forever done with 17th Street Photo....I will stick with B&H!!

I used the Tamron 150-600 for BIF (on Canon 70D) successfully. Also for airplanes.

That's the way the new world works. Bought an Olympus and got the manual on the CD only. Get used to it.

I have it. I used it for two weeks in Galapagos with the 16-50 and 55-210 OSS lenses and I love it. Good quality pictures. I will post some once I go over few thousands pictures I have to process. It has some limitations that are livable with. I can expand if you wish.
I bought it while I was considering to upgrade my old Canon 7D to 7DII.
I decided mirorless is the way to go.
Can't beat the quality, weight and the price. weightwise, it is much easier to carry vs. my other cameras (Canons). I got the package with two lenses, SD card and camera bag for $849. Half the price of the 7DII body only. You can use others' lenses with an adapter so the choice of lenses is expandable. Also look at Tamron and/or Sigma who have lenses for the A6000.
My main complains about this camera is lack of touch screen and short battery life which I managed by buying two more batteries I keep handy when taking lots of pictures.
Look at Gary Fong's video at sonya6000.com. it's going to give you a better idea of the camera capabilities than I can do.
Good luck in your decision.

Hi - I am very new to photography, and bought Canon Powershot SX50 HS last year. It's a bridge camera, and allows me to set the ISO, aperture and shutter speed, but I cannot switch lenses. While I am enjoying the camera, I think I made a mistake in buying it, and would love sell it and buy a 'real' camera. I'm looking in the under $1000 price range, such as Canon EOS Ti5 and Nikon D3300 cameras, but then I came across this article about a photographer who used Canon for years, but fell in love with a Fuji X-Ti mirrorless camera (http://www.slrlounge.com/fuji-x-t1-graphite-silver-edition-review/ ). I think I should take mirrorless cameras into consideration as well, as they are much lighter, cheaper, and some get good reviews. Is anyone on the list using a mirrorless? Any pros, cons or other words of wisdom?

I have the Tamron 150-600. Just used it on Canon 70D in Galapagos. Got some great pictures. Still working on the pictures, but I like what I see so far. I have not used it in low light yet.

If the cost of these lenses were not an issue which would you prefer?
Primarily for shooting birds/sports, but the 2.8 would certainly add some flexibility for indoor events.

1. Sigma 120-300 f2.8 sport with 2x TC - Available now

2. Sigma 150-600 f5-6.3 Sport - Available...?????????

3. Tamron 150-600 f5-6.3 - Available Now

Thoughts?

It's a great camera. I have it for a while as an upgrade to my old 7D, I just used it in Galapagos for two weeks with the 55-250 USM and the Tamron 150-600 and got great pictures.
I opted on it instead of upgrading to the 7DMKii (which is a great camera too but not worth the price for my needs).

Hope this helps you.
Good luck!

New to UHH. My original "real" camera was a Canon film body, with kit lenses, after which I bought the Rebel Xs and used it happily for several years. More recently,I have been shooting with a Panasonic Lumix FZ47, which is great for traveling. I travel a lot, and shoot landscapes, people candids, some flower closeups. I have been doing (way too much) reading on what's out there today, and have pretty much settled on upgrading to Canon 70D. Currently, Sam's Club has a kit deal that includes the 70D, with an 18-55 IS STM and 55-250 US USM, and I'm about ready to go for it. What am I missing?
