I love inside stairs in lighthouses--this is a lovely shot!

Not so good when the only toilet in the place is built just under the light!

Clicker, that first frame is extraordinary IMHO! The marvelous atmosphere, the beautiful composition, and the colors of the fallen leaves, combined with the little brook in the background, make for a restful woodsy scene that should hang poster-size in many waiting rooms to calm anxious patients. I think I can even smell the wonderful autumn scents!

They have a similar scene in the STD clinic I attend on a regular basis and I must admit the woodsy scene depicted does take my mind off the itching.

Stairs are fun, right? Actually that trail isn't all that bad.

Stairs are fun???????????????? Fun means amusing and enjoyable according to the dictionary. Must remember that when I next see a staircase lol.
I suppose trails are gut bustingly funny?

I have consulted the genie of shutter activation's on your behalf and am awaiting an answer. I will pass this on as soon as the genie replies.
Please tell us seriously what type of response you expected? How can anyone possibly know when a piece of mechanical equipment that is not available for inspection is likely to fail.
I'm driving to the supermarket later in a 10 year old car what are the chances of my indicators failing lol

Lady Astor had another run-in with Mr. Churchill where she said something to the effect of "If you were my husband I'd put poison in your coffee!", to which Sir Winston reportedly replied "And if I were your husband, madam, I would drink it!!".

Do I hear an echo?

The USA is proving that every day.
The thing we need to ban are child proof caps and such, do not require car seats, allow open stair rails again and all the other things that are mandated to protect stupid children. Same for adults, no mandatory seat belts, allow smoking ads on TV, no helmets required for kids on bikes or adults on motorcycles. You get the point, let the stupid cull themselves from society and stop protecting them.

What name would one give to a society that makes no effort to protect the innocent?

Billyspad: Good observation. And I like your use of "worryingly" here. Don't think I've seen that word before. It looks good in print but doesn't quite roll off the tongue😊

http://dictionary.cambridge.org/us/dictionary/english/worrying A fine word my man and happy to have introduced you to it. As for rolling off the tongue mine happens to be 15 inches long which makes me a bit of a babe magnet I have found!

Loads of em hangout here on the Hog or have you not noticed? Check out the guys who feel the need to seek advice about buying a camera strap or inquire about taking a camera on an aircraft. Look at the standard of commenting and advice given on the For Your Consideration forum. Idiocracy is alive and well but worryingly appears to be welcomed in certain areas. Do not let it depress you just sit back and chuckle.

That you don't understand the problem with W/R is only one symptom of a much larger problem.

You invent problems SteveR. What problem has W/R ever been to you personally? Probably none so why adopt and take on board other peoples supposed problems?
I have no problems in life at all and am happy because of that. No one here will ever be sincerely interested in your problems or even your well being so just think for yourself my friend.

Still butt-hurt from being kicked off FYC I see. Since you and Rob the bus driver and the illiterate one have been purged, the artistic merit and photographic knowledge on FYC has increased quite a bit. It is obvious to those who frequent FYC that all three of you had very little photographic knowledge or artistic talent and that the sole reason for being there was to insult people and promote you agenda of negativity.

Nothing can give us more pleasure than to know that the three of you are still whining and complaining about FYC. Let's hope it continues. It gives us a nice warm feeling to see you purge yourself every time you can. Keep it up. Look forward to it!!

That may indeed be true random ol boy but having looked at your three most recent postings on FYC its obvious neither your photographic knowledge or indeed your artistic talent has been subjected to this supposed renaissance.
And my reason for being there was to have a laugh, simple as that. I gave up treating it as a serious photographic forum possibly 2 years ago and I think I made it quite plain that I only frequented the place for amusement. You are one of many with your inane questions like "does this work" ensure that that if ever I am in need of amusement I can just log in and look for posters such as you and then roll about on the floor laughing at the praiseworthy comments you all heap on one another.
There are offshoots as well. A society with members in 8 different countries have formed the FYC Dykettes who download one particular members work to edit it or add items etc plus parodying this members comments and exchanging them with each other. All good fun young Sir. Unless your the dyke in question I suppose?

So you can continue to post your snaps and I can continue to laugh at them and surely we can live without bothering each other?

People take their photos seriously!! One guy in the Photo Critique Section posted a shot of birds, which were in a great formation, but only one was in focus. He thought it was terrific. Many others oohed and ahhed. All I said was that I didn't appreciate it. He put me on his ignore list. So...some folks just want adoration.

SreveR in all fairness to you I have noticed overtime that actually you can be quite a straight up guy and are willing to give an honest opinion. Where your down about winterrose came from I have no idea and why you seem to think stalking me and trying to insult me is a positive and productive thing to do is beyond me.
We agree some folks just want adoration and there is a whole bunch of them hanging out in the cosy club known as For Your Consideration. Your bright enough to see that so just be honest about it. The attitude that allowed this downward trend in that forum was allowed by SteveM and is fostered further by the 3 stooges that run it at present.

Wire wool and a strong bleach solution. Use a scrubbing brush on stubborn dirt.
