I was requested to move a post I made in the general section to this section but as I have not ever done that I have no idea how to do it. Therefore I am reposting the message in this section. UP 4014 leaves Cheyenne on September 27th for what they are calling "The Great Race Across the Southwest." It goes to Provo Utah arriving on October 1st and will sit there for 2 days being on display on October 2nd & 3rd. October 4th it leaves Prove and goes as far as Milford, Ut. On October 5th & 6th it travels on down to Las Vegas, Nv. where it will sit on display Monday October 7th. October 8th & 9th it will travel to Los Angeles and sit on display October 10 & 11. The excursion rides will be Saturday and Sunday October 12th & 13th. It will Leave Los Angeles on October 15th and go thru Beaumont, Indio, Niland, Ca. and arrive in Yuma and overnight there. October 16th & 17th it will travel to Tucson where it will be on display Friday October 18th. Saturday October 19th it leaves Tucson to head on east to El Paso where it will be on display the 21st and 22nd of October. This is as far as the schedule is available on the UP Steam web pages.

Here is a copy of the UP Steam web page with the schedule as is confirmed right now. The only thing NOT listed is the display area in Los Angeles, but my understanding was that it would be near the museum it was in for 52 years.

To all who are like me and enjoy the old steam locomotives and live between Cheyenne, Wy. and Los Angeles, Ca. Union Pacific locomotive 4014 leaves Cheyenne, Wy on September 27th and arrives Los Angeles on October 9th sometime after noon. It will be on display on October 10, & 11 then do an excursion run to Barstow on October 12th and overnight in Barstow and return to Los Angeles on October 13th. It will leave Los Angeles on October 15th and go the south route to Yuma, Az, via Beaumont, Indio, Niland, Ca. Then from Yuma it goes thru Mohawk, Gila Bend, Casa Grande, Tucson, Benson, Wilcox, Bowie, Az. Then to El Paso and on thru New Mexico, Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas, Missouri, back thru Kansas and into Colorado then back to Cheyenne.

It looks like my October is all planned out.

Your photos are not ending up in your photos folder instead of Lightroom are they?

I just looked on my iMac and have 52 pages of programs on it. The pages have 7 programs listed on each page. Each page is printed on one side only. 23 programs are 32 bit and most of them I haven't used in 3 or 4 years. Both my printers have 32 bit programs and they are both 5 years old. There are probably 12 or 15 of the programs that are less than 10mb and most of them are installers/un installers. It looks like a cleaning session is in order. Lightroom 6 is a 64 bit program but has 32 bit installer/un installer.

As my iMac tells me every time I shut it down and turn it back on all Adobe products have 32 bit initiation files. I am running Mojave 10.14.6 and Adobe is not the only program that is going in the toilet.

If you do the east Coast of Texas drive that Art Pear suggested, once you get to Corpus Christi head west on Texas 359 to Freer then take U.S. 59 to Laredo. once you leave Laredo head northwest on I 35 to where U.S. 83 goes west to Del Rio and over to Big Bend Ranch State Park. You will also be able to go to Marfa Texas and you might get to see the Marfa Lights.

It doesn't matter that no one has a way to turn a file folder into several thumbnails. My iMac does not provide thumbnails on file folders. As far as I can tell the only way to see thumbnails in my photo files is to open them first.

With it being a MacBook Air it is not capable of a memory upgrade. What it came with is all it can use.

Any lens with manual aperture adjustment that does not have the aperture on the smallest opening; f:16/f:22 and locked there your camera will give the fee error in any mode.

The only problem I am seeing is that with the upgrade to Catalina ALL, I repeat ALL 32 bit programs are useless on your iMac, MacBook and Mac mini's. In fact I am getting messages every time I turn on my iMac & MacBook Pro to that effect. Since I tend to travel more now that I retired I shut my iMac down when I take a trip to keep from having it get hit by lightning or other dreadful things.


In fact it seems that Adobe is all 32 bit on my iMac & MacBook Pro.

My understanding of the way OS 10 is set up is that 64 bit programming was introduced in 2005 and with the update to Catalina all programs must be 64 bit to run on a Mac. All iMac's were configured for 64 bit from 2007.

If you shut you iMac down and restart it you will get a message telling you that there are programs that are no longer optimized for your Mac with the next version of OS 10. Catalina. The programs are all 32 bit programs and they will no longer work with the newest version of OS coming this fall. The message also tells you how to find which programs are 32 bit and that you will need to contact the maker(in your case Adobe) and ask them when they will upgrade to 64 bit programs. According to my system report all my Adobe programs are 32 bit and they will not work if I upload Catalina this fall.

You do know that iPhone files are not always in .mov format don't you? The newest phones also do a format called .heic for photos and .hevc for videos. This has been the format used since ios 11. I have iMac and windows computers and if I remember rightly my windows computer had to have a program installed to convert the Apple files from .hevc to .mov files to be seen on my windows computer.

Considering the schedule that has been posted for the Omaha Railroad Days and then the trip on up to St Paul, Minnesota and on to Chicago starting on July 8th and into August with an end date of August 8th, I can guess that the trip to Pomona will take at least a week. Anyway I would bet there will be as big a crowds on these upcoming trips as there were from Cheyenne to Ogden and back.
