I have both, and you'd be happy with either. Price is the difference, 7d mkii is pretty close but 5d is more reliable. Get the 7d and more glass?

I too have the the Tamron 24-70 on a 5dmkiii,i use it for everything including basketball and other Sports.Great lens and the vibration reduction is the deal breaker for me. Works wonderful on low light portraits too.

I use one on my 5d mkiii and I Absolutely love it
Not quite as sharp as the canon in good light but has vc. It Defenitely is a quality lens and my copy is very sharp.
