For a long time now I have been labeling photos like the one below as "Low Key". While they display some of the elements of Low Key photography, they were not produced that way, with careful manipulation of light and shadow. Most of my "Low Key" photos were shot in full daylight then converted to monochrome with NIK Silver Efex. My newest "series" of photos, the "HCM Series" will more accurately reflect the production process. Here, then, is the first entry in the "HCM Series - Bread and Butter Daffodils"

Very nicely done. You should do a tutorial on your process.

Thanks Jerry. For me photography is both physical and mental therapy. I want to keep at it as long as my eyesight and knees hold up.

Thanks David. Your idea to do a tutorial sounds like a good project for a rainy day.

Thanks much steve. It may be a long tutorial .... there are several steps along the way.

Thanks photoman. The tones are why I use NIK Silver Efex ...... it gives me the more control over the monochrome space than did On1 Software's Perfect B&W.
