James56 & jamm,
I have suspected that a new model is coming soon as prices & deals are now getting better. But there will always be a better model tomorrow. This one looks like more than I'll need for a long time.
Thanks

Very good photo trip. My Dad grew up near there when his Dad moved there because he was in the lumber business in the early 1900s. I've been there but never had the time to take the trip on the train. If I live long enough, I'll take the trip now that you showed us what a great trip it is.
Thanks for the post.

Nightski,
Good photos, BUT, take a look at "snooker2009" on Flickr to see extremely good eagle (and lots of other birds) photos. Go into his past photos to see rare poses. His are the BEST I have ever seen. Of course his equipment is very good also. Keep shooting these beautiful birds.

Just to add some more info in the EXIF discussion, without making any changes to how you would like your photos viewed, on Flickr the EXIF info is there whenever you click on "actions". I like to view it on others photos and I like others to view it on my photos. We can all learn that way. But some professional photographers disable being able to see theirs because they may have learned photography the hard way and want others to do the same. The vast majority of photo takers don't make money from their photos, but just want to make the best photos they can. Then there are some people that are just paranoid about anyone that MIGHT tell them their photos could be improved. They are the FEW that "know it all".

JTceec,
I'm not in to the birds like so many but there are a couple of guys photos you will like and three good web sites to look at to learn more. The first guy (ThruKurtsLens-Kurt Wecker)is in a photo club I belong to and the second guy (snooker2009's-Larry Keller) is a friend of his that I found on a Flickr site. Kurt produces the best bird photography I've seen. Robert (Bob) Friedman posted the web sites below. He also is an excellent bird photographer. And this photo club (Doylestown Photo Club) has several more excellent bird photographers.

I am glad to hear there are professional photographers ALSO that do not find that ND filters will improve their photographs because their cameras and lenses deem the filters unnecessary ever. My Leica camera and lenses are not today's newest technology. Cameras and lenses improve almost every day and I know I can not keep up with them. So thanks for the information.

Read more about ND filters. The camera doesn't do the same thing and won't get the same results. What you are doing in camera is surely needed many times to adjust the light in the photo you are taking. But again the results will NOT be the same as the results when an ND filter is needed. I will not try to fully explain but you should read in several manufactures info. about when & why using an ND filter will improve your photography. Having the best camera & lens is only good if the photographer really knows how to get a good photo. That's what makes it so interesting. It's easy to learn a lot about it on the internet, like on sites like this. I always find new things to learn about photography and all it's hardware.
After you've read & tried more, let us all know what the results were.

Hi,
I now live in Souderton but I lived & worked in Perkasie for quite a few years. Nice bed room town.
Have you been to / seen "Mood's (covered) Bridge"? Another pretty covered bridge to photo.

You have gotten some good info. and some not so good. I will suggest you look at the sites I have listed below. The "Cambridge in colour" has a lot of tutorials that are very good. The last site on the list from Singh-Ray Filters shows some great examples of using filters. They all say it a lot better than I could.

This should help you decide how & when to use different filters, especially ND filters.
Good luck & Happy photography.

I'm also always learning. That's part of what makes photography so interesting. Check out the site below-
www.cambridgeincolour.com
It has a very good & complete list of tutorials. And it's based in the UK. Good luck.

Good photos. The reason for it's location is because it was too narrow for the busy street so it was replaced, but the locales wanted to keep it. So they picked it up & moved it to the current location. Glad they did. Now go up stream about 1 mile to Blooming Glenn Road to see "Moods's Bridge". It's been restored after kids tried to burn it down & a trash truck almost took it down. You can drive to a parking lot at the bridge on the North side to walk through & view & photo the bridge. You can only drive through it from the South side.
