I do not understand the topic "Wayne"? A lot of people will not even read your question with a topic like that. You might want to consider editing the title to something that will draw an answer, like "Sony SLT- A77 DSLR with 16-50mm-f:2.8 lens"

Now, I can say, without fear of contradiction. I can't help you since I do have no experince with the camera!

But I am sure someone who does will see the revised title and give you what you need!
:)

dsmeltz,
Thanks. We who come from Phila. sometimes NEED clarification.
I just WANT other photographers experience, if they have some, on this camera.
Thanks again.

I've had an A77 for about six months (and it's smaller 24.7 MP sibling the A65 for 18 months).

Both are excellent, but the auto focus sensor on the A77 is especially awesome. In addition, the A77's kit lens is an order of magnitude superior to that on the A65.

I do, however, prefer the lighter weight and smaller size of the A65 for a walk around camera.

Rumors are that Sony A77II will replace the A77 this Spring or early Summer. No specs yet available, however those in the know seem to think it will have the worlds fastest autofocus system...but all just rumors at this point.

James56 & jamm,
I have suspected that a new model is coming soon as prices & deals are now getting better. But there will always be a better model tomorrow. This one looks like more than I'll need for a long time.
Thanks

I have the camera but not the lens but didn't you leave it a bit late to ask the question since you're buying today?
Buy it and let us know what you think.
