When I was in the Air Force back in the '60's I was stationed at Hickam AFB in Honolulu. I bought a used '64 Chevy Impala. Being an Hawaiian car it didn't have a heater - didn't need it. When I got out of the AF they shipped the car back to the states for me. I had to go to the wrecking yard and pull the heater out of another Chevy and put it in my car.
As it turned out I should have left that crappy Chevy in Hawaii - had to have the engine AND transmission rebuilt at 50K miles. Turned me off to any Chevys in the future.

That sounds like a bulldozer version of "Christine."

I'll look for it.

I have an indoor/outdoor thermometer that has three wireless remote units. It will display the temp at the base unit plus three remote locations. I have the three remotes located at various spots around the property, i.e. the back yard, the garage and the shed.

I was sad to see this, also. The wife and I watched the Brothers every week when they were on TV.

I spent three Christmases and New Years in Hawaii while in the Air Force stationed at Hickam AFB. "Merry Christmas" in Hawaiian was easy to learn but "Happy New Year" was a different story. It took me all three years to be able to rattle off ”Hau’oli Makahiki Hou” without having the locals laugh at me.

Speaking of New Years, I wasn't prepared for the crescendo of thousands of firecrackers going off at midnight. The next day the ground all over Honolulu was covered with red firecracker paper. The way I heard it was that the Chinese on New Years Eve would open the front door to their houses and set off a string of firecrackers to drive the evil spirits out the back door then set off another string of firecrackers at the back to keep those spirits from coming back in. And of course the Haoles thought it was a good idea so they made it part of their New Years rituals - along with partying and getting drunk. I wonder if they still do that given most places have banned fireworks.

I purchased a Xerox All-in-one color laser printer about five or six years ago. I got it from Costco when they were having a sale on it, normally about $400 but marked down to around $150. This has been the best printer I have ever had. Ever. No problems with it in all that time. Can't say I haven't had any problems with the H-P printers I've had or the Canon Pro 100 I currently have. The Xerox even does a fairly decent job of printing color photographs.

BTW, I checked on this printer on-line and found a used one at Amazon.com. However, their printer is $685. Glad I bought the one I have when I did.

Is that tractor with the two steering wheels the tractor driver training vehicle? The trainee would sit at one seat and the trainer sits at the other but would still be able to control the vehicle if necessary - if the trainee was about to drive into a ditch or something?

I was just thinking that Jerry posts almost as much about his Ukulele as he does about his Computer problems.. Not to mention His Cameras.. So it is only fair that he shares his Music as he shares his Pictures... Wait a moment has he shared a picture??????
I wonder if Jerry has more money invested in ukuleles, computers, or photography equipment.

Available from Temu, but I'd rather buy ice cream. I wonder if these really are his rules.

For some reason, pictures that I post appear almost instantaneously now. They used to take up to half a minute to appear. I wonder if it's because I'm using a different computer.
Since I never watch NCIS I need a clarification: is it Gidds' rules or is it Gibbs' rules?

A few years ago on Halloween one of the first trick-or-treaters came to my door. He said, "trick or treat". I said, "is that TODAY?". He didn't think it was very funny but his mother got a kick out of it.

Having not been in a hobby shop in years if I could even find one' . . .
You and anybody else. I owned a hobby shop back in the '80s. Used to sell a lot of models kits and supplies to the kids but when they discovered computers they gave up on the models. And the guys that were into radio control models (planes, boats, cars) would get their materials and supplies from mail order. I would get the small stuff they didn't want to have to send away for. I closed the shop in the mid '80s and went on to better things. I doubt you could even find a hobby shop anymore. I used to go to a couple large hobby shops when I lived in Sacramento but they are gone now.

I started my first year of high school in September, 1956. The high school was across the street from the local Ford dealer. After school we would go over to the dealership and check out the new 1957 Fords. Good times, good times.
