Decisions are made on a sampling of one... unfortunately. In UHH opining is favored over science. To analyze an ink and duplicate it is not black magic. Additives for UV exposure requires an additive... those are very low cost and added at low concentrations. UV 100 year resistance is often an argued point...humph... ego... 100 years really. If you want good prints buy wonderful paper.. (RedRiver metalic, mmmm good, I have eaten some it is so good.)

I do not expect that any of the OEM lovers will change their minds... nor will they read and educate themselves... betcha.

I for one always read what you have to say, and for the most part agree (I just refuse to accept and agree 100% with anyone -- even if they are right, it's the Yankee Italian thing in me). This post was very informative, thanks again.

I had an earlier version, can't remember which, it was not what was advertised, did not do a good job, so I dumped it after giving it a fair trial on various photos.

And I thank you for your kind words of support. Served in the U.S Army from 1955 to 1975. A choice I made and glad of it.

several months back I signed up as a Windows Insider and got downloads of Windows 10 as it was being developed. My opinion? It looks as though it is set up as a vehicle to spy on your every move and of course, sell the information just like Facebook does. There are ways to set it up so the spying is minimized, but some of it is still going to be there. Supposedly anyone who has Windows 7 or 8 will be able to get a free download of Windows 10 thru July 28 of 2016. My advice: if you have Windows 7 or 8 hold off on getting Windows 10 for a couple months, at least thru their first Service Pack....let the bugs get worked out. I already took 1 of my computers with Windows 10 back to Windows 7 and am soon going to be reverting another back to Windows 8.1. One problem right now is that a lot of the programs and browsers you may wish to use are not yet compatible with Windows 10. Microsoft is pushing their new Edge browser to work with Windows 10. I've tried it and so far don't like it. The menu bar is history and I'm really trying to figure out why it's supposed to be better than Internet Explorer. Go slow with Windows 10...it'll be there later, if you want it at all.

Here is the fix I found and applied, it is a one click fix.

It takes quite a while for my desktop icons to appear, and Fences isn't working right.

Jerry I went from 7 to 10 with no problems. Icons come up as fast or faster, and Fences works like it always did. No telling what is going on, maybe a few queer electrons blowing fuses?

Left Pittsburgh 1948 (11 yrs old) been back about a dozen times and am more impressed each time with the progress and (yes) beauty of the city and surroundings. My sister lived in East Pittsburgh her and hubby could walk to work at Westinghouse. Your pictures are very good, looks as if taken from the incline?

What's worse than walking amongst us, is that they vote, or attempt to legislate laws.

Sad isn't it that it has come down to that? And I fear more is to come as the left rewrites our history to rid it of everything they dislike.

I was in Korea 63-64 with Nuke tipped ground to ground missiles -- though not official doctrine, the 30,000+ US troops were just a write off, to suffer the fate of Task Force Smith at the beginning of the Korean War. Even with our greater fire power, their overwhelming man power will win the day, until we send in the reinforcements.

Been there and loved the whole area. Your pictures really do it justice, and bring back fond memories of my trip up there.

Yes, I got the same call last week, I didn't respond in anyway but by hanging up. A couple of months ago my friend responded to a similar call and followed their instructions and then found his computer being held for a $300.00 ransom. They added a boot-up password, which I easily found by running a password finder program for him.

CJC2 said in part: " Third party inks, and refilled OEM ink carts, will cause trouble sooner or later." Oh good!! it may be Later.
djtravels, agrees with me. I use a CIS over 5 years with an Epson and its failue was "Out Lived" failure. During that period my calculations vs OEM ... about $2000. OH BUT. UV!!, come on now give me a break... do you run UV lamps in your living room or display your photos in Florida Sun or illuminate Xeon Lamp. Also UV additives are low cost and in inks..

Jerry41 says: "I've tried several, and always for back to the originals." No Jerry it may be red but not a substitute for a good red wine. Jerry you did not explain specifically what problems you have had... what were the problems??? Or was it just "a feeling?"

I agree! I've been using ink from Ink Manufactory (ebay) out of Canada, on my two epsons. Each cartridge is around $1.25 to $1.50 with free shipping. Been using this ink for better than 7 years, first started when I used Canon printers. And losing your warranty is a scare tactic started by the printer manufacturers.

I agree with everything said thus far about the photo. The info on the knife is very interesting -- an art soon to be lost. But I really like the revolver! But then again, I'm a right wing gun nut.

Thanks Ron for sharing this with us, you did not have to. I for one appreciate the time it took for you to learn this and share it with us. Not only do you explain HOW, but in the process we learn WHAT we're doing and even the WHY, comes through. Using someone else's presets and actions gets it done but the what, why, and how are lost.
