Nice! I've often taken pictures of campfires as I camp allot, but yours are better then any of mine!
Vibrant images looks like art paintings.
I think at about 40 ounces it's heavy. But I'd love to have it! Being a young 68 I know I could carry this on a 10 mile hike easily on my 6d2. But not in any budget I can produce though...
Airlines often charge now for carry on (over head bin). Sun Country charges more for a carry on then checked baggage, unless 1st class.
Reason I just go with back pack that can fit under seat.
If I use commercial airlines I carry backpack that fits under seat with some clothes and my camera with a zoom attached, this being only equipment I bring as trips haven't ever been specific to photography. When I'm driving I bring ALL my equipment in Lowepro sling backpack.
I use the 50mm 2.5 macro for family event shooting, sometimes portraits where you can get really close (about 9"s) or back off for normal portraits, lense provides a very sharp image. Think currently not being produced, but my daughter recently got one used...
Yes the 6D2 is light weight to me compared to my prior 7D2, and think fairly close to the Sony A7, a review had the 6D2 105 grams heavier and fractions of an inch bigger in all dimensions.
The 6D2 has for me a very good feel in use also.
I have a 6D2, moved from a 7D2. I'm happy with decision, most used lense is EF 24-105 F4L. My prime lense is EF 50mm F2.5 macro (been a long long time favorite for me). Have other lenses that fill the gaps but not used as much.
For some reason I just didn't favor the 7D2, nice camera but....
I've had the first version of that lense for so long unsure when I got it. Still today a go to for me often today and it works just as good today as whenever I got it.
Funny as I've been shooting with a decent SLR for almost 50 years, yet I still watched a 90 minute video on how to use my new Canon 6D2 and glad I did. Was easy way to gain some valuable information AND make some adjustments to the camera.
Inexpensive lense that can be used as normal also is Canon 50mm F2.5 macro. It's been around a long time, I've had mine for about 12 years, probably only available on used market. It has some draw backs to this lense but it's been very useful for me over the years.
Welcome! from another "old guy" that's also fairly new here also.
Agree, local is best for returns, advice, and comparing. For Canon buying locally and via internet such as Andorama are about same price due to Canon's pricing model. But that being said Ebay can offer excellent discounts, mostly this is gray market, meaning warranty can be an issue (buyer be aware!). Again though I saved BIG recently and also able to register the camera for warranty, getting coupon discounts offers, and able to download various Canon software, virtually same as say Andorama, plus seller 1 year warranty - which again can be dubious.
Often authorized Canon dealers dump equipment to non authorized to meet required sales quotas, BUT doubt buyer will be able to identify whether USA product unless stated by Ebay seller and then pricing will have smaller discount.
I personally like what the camera provides without any changes. That said I'm going to start tinkering only because I see advantages to modest enhancement. Guess do you want "art " or a true photo, up to the person behind the camera.
I have found a hood quite useful in keeping lense front or filter clean and safe from damage without lense cap on. But added length can also an issue.
