I'm a Pentax K-3 II shooter at the moment - Looks like a friendly place here. I focus mostly on landscapes and panoramas. ;-)

The attached image was a test of my new circular polarizer in a 5 shot panorama taken from M Hill in Montpelier, Idaho. Panorama is approximately 180 degrees stitched in Adobe Photoshop. Semi-permanent temporary cell tower in right foreground.

Hello all,
part time photographer here, I do get paid for my work but not sure of the definition of "professional".
have been photographing and learning for almost ten years and just recently decided to start a small photography business so I may have more questions in the area of business then photography but always willing to learn something new! Areas I like are family and children portraiture and sometimes photos of Art from artists in the local area for them to use for sales and submissions. Looking forward to reading the conversations here and maybe getting some answers. Take care see you on the forums.

Hi!!!

I am 80 years young, and started photography at about age 13. I created a small darkroom beneath the basement staircase, and my camera was an Argus C-3. Over the years I went through two Speed Graphics, an RB67 Mamiya, two Rolliflexs, and several
Nikons (the latest being the D-7l00). I have an assortment of lenses for the Nikon, but sold most of my camera collection, enlargers, and darkroom gear in preparation to move into a retirement facility. I was a staff photographer for the Michigan State
Daily News many years ago, and did considerable photography for my career job with a federal law enforcement agency. I am looking forward to this new website!

My D7100 arrives at the end of the month. All of my experience is Nikon 2020 f film, what should I be considering for the first two lenses for the D7100

I used the wrong quote reply first, oops! But, I also have a N2020 and the Nikon 28-85 lens that came with it and that lens works fine with my D7200, a bit heavier, it seems, than my Nikon 18-140mm but works and has the macro setting on it! Good Luck!

Good choices would be the 18-140mm, 55-300mm, 70-300mm. The FX 28-300mm is also good for the D7100. Good luck.

If you have the Nikon 28-85mm lens that went with the N2020 you can use that as well. I have the N2020 with the 28-85mm lens and it works with my D7200, seems a bit heavier than my 18-140mm lens, but it does work! Good Luck!

How interesting is that. Buddy Holly was my fav singer "La Bamba". Never forget Don McCleans American Pie. All my friends thought I looked jsut like Buddy Holly in the first of the Sixties.

Enjoy the group.

Welcome to the UHH.
That e-mail is not the whole thing, just what Admin decided to feature. If you sign in directly from your browser and go to the lists of sub forums you can subscribe to any and all you are interested in and then when you open the Hog you will be able to scroll through all of the new posts, not just the ones Admin selected.

Oh! Great!! Thanks for that info. I will do that. There is just so much information out there, it is very nice to have that right at your fingertips!

Peggy Sue Got Married - 1986 Francis Ford Coppola move with Kathleen Turner, Nicolas Cage..... nominated for 3 academy awards. Welcome aboard. Loved your movie. What did you ever do with that great looking 1958 Chevrolet Impala Nicolas drove in the movie.

Haha! Thanks! Still driving an Impala, just not the 1958 version! My Mom and Dad named me after Buddy Holly's song! I did enjoy the movie!
