I'm a Pentax K-3 II shooter at the moment - Looks like a friendly place here. I focus mostly on landscapes and panoramas. ;-)

The attached image was a test of my new circular polarizer in a 5 shot panorama taken from M Hill in Montpelier, Idaho. Panorama is approximately 180 degrees stitched in Adobe Photoshop. Semi-permanent temporary cell tower in right foreground.

Welcome.
Your shot is a fine example of why one should not use a polarizer on an ultra wide lens or panorama shot, unrealistic sky colors.

Welcome, I have family in Pocatello and Blackfoot.
The photo looks great. I like the sky with clouds contrasting with the blue. The only problem is that it is uneven because a panorama this wide catches the actual unevenness of the actual sky you can see with your eyes. I am crappy at PS and use it for basic adjustments but I really like the shot.

Realism is overrated sometimes. ;-)

Took the words right off my keyboard. Nice work otherwise.

Reality is for people who can't handle drugs.

Nice pano. The sky may not be perfect but it still is a good photo.

Yes, the purpose of the shot was just to test a new CP filter with 17mm lens. You do have creative control with a polarizer and do not have to use the maximum enhancement every shot. My main use of a CP is to enhance color saturation by removing/reducing sunlight reflections from water, rocks and foliage.

Much of photography has to do with expectations. This image was a test of a polarizer and test of forum responses. It has served its purpose well. ;-)

Nice photo and your test came out quite well.

Did a lot of deer hunting out your back door, all over Crow Creek Canyon and beyond, during the 1980's -1990's...great place to pitch a tent!

Here's another pano from the same location with no CP. Yes, the skies can get that dark at 6000 feet plus. It depends on the time of year and how much suspended particulates there are in the atmosphere. It can get crystal clear up here! ;-)

cheers,
Rick
