If its there they will come and some might even stay for awhile. Sorry if there are too many. Didn't know where to stop.
Absolutely beautiful -- all of them. Wish I could do this as well as you.
I would guess Sand Hill Cranes.
Red Dog---Perhaps you have met Ray Spencer who shoots in your area. Takes wonderful pictures. Nice shots from your camera.
How about a beer bottle opener -- something to read like maybe a manual --a few snicker bars and perhaps a sandwich. Heh, its more fun when you are totally prepared.
Thanks for taking the time to view.wolf and laugh.
Rivernan-- We have had a severe drought for seems like forever so when you don't have it thats when you get serious about water. Thanks for viewing.
Thanks Digital. Wish I could visit your part of the world. Maybe some day.
After a week of 80 degree weather, I decided to get out of the house and into the brush country with my FZ200 (which is a computer that just happens to take pictures and a camera that I still don't fully understand). Guess what? By 2:00 pm it was 97 degrees. My luck! Anyway, I had plenty of water so I toughed it out. Very few birds came in to the pond and no mammals. I thought I would show you what I did get. As I sat there in the blind watching the drinking and the play, I realized, as I have so many times, how important water is to everything. Perhaps we don't think about that too much since it is available to us pretty regularly.
Taken back in January with cannon Birds have conventions too.

I chose this one because I forgot to place water at the base of the Lantana that I had set up as a prop.

If I had to drink like this, I would surely drown.

Mike--Can you tell us where each of these pictures were taken? In all the years that I have been taking pictures and viewing pictures I have never seen any thing quite like this set. If Ansel Adams were alive today he would be bird dogging you for info. I sit here in front of my computer and as down load each picture I become aware of greatness in your touch and your complete control of all the facets of photography. Long may you continue to amaze us with your work.

Church in a small town, in Big Bend Area, where there was mercury mining operations decades ago. Now a somewhat reclaimed ghost town. Some residents there live off the grid.
Hey lobo-- I noticed a wood bar across the door. Is that to keep the sinners in until they heard the sermon or what.
