The eagles have returned to Lock and Dam 15 in downtown Davenport, Iowa. After a long cold snap the Mississippi has frozen over and only has open water beneath the lock and dams. Probably 50-75 eagles have congregated there to catch fish. They don’t always come real close to shore but will occasionally. These were taken with my R7 and 500 mm lens.
Thanks for looking.
Very nice. Do you shoot in vertically or shoot horizontal and crop to vertical?
I was lucky enough to attend the Iowa women’s basketball game between Iowa and Michigan State. Iowa has Caitlin Clark, last year’s player of the year, and odds on favorite to win again this year. She is setting records that will be hard to beat. She is known for her “logo 3’s”; hitting 3 point shotsfrom way beyond the arc.
She hit a 3 pointer at the buzzer to beat the Spartans. I took this series with my Sony RX10 IV from row 37. Not a perfect shot because her face is partially obscured I know but hey, 37th row…c’mon.
How big a draw is she? Iowa women sold out their entire home season of 15,000 seats. The away games get sold out often also. Tune in to watch a generational talent play. She puts up scoring numbers hard to believe. (She had 40 last night). She is ALSO the Big 10 all time leader in assists and has many triple doubles in her career. (Points, rebounds, assists.

Fourth Presbyterian Church I believe it is called on Michigan Ave. I stop in to shoot photos everytime I am near.
I figured that is good of a title as any. I took this in my backyard waiting for hummingbirds to show up at my feeders. A slow year hor hummingbirds.
Nice photos. May I ask what rental rates are for such a gorgeous view?

Outstanding set! I didn't know about a major airshow in Davenport; my sister-in-law lives there, so we'll have to plan a visit and get the timing correct.
The air show used to be held each year but now it seems to be every 2-3 years. I didn’t know about this year’s show until about 3 weeks before the event from a TV ad. Usually either T Birds or Blue Angels perform when held.

Super set. I really like number 5. Spectacular. You don't need to show all of each jet for a perfect photo.
Thank you. That is uncrpped. Couldn’t quite get it all in. By the end of their set I was out in adjacent bean field.

Nice set. Times like that are when a zoom comes in handy.
No kidding. I went back on Sunday with a 70-200 lens
Some shots from an airshow in Davenport, Iowa back in June. I’ve gotten used to going to Chicago air show where the jets are a little farther away. I took my R7 with 500 mm f/4 and I was in too tight to show the close in formations with all four jets flying.
Interested in what lens and camera you shot with in Costa Rica. I’m heading there mid-June for my daughter’s destination wedding.
