Excellent photos any parent or grandparent would want to have displayed on a wall or in an open photo album placed on a coffee table.

Can't go by what the Mac haters say. It all comes down to what the individual wants. likes and is willing to pay for. You do get what you pay for and a good windows machine with everything a power user really needs is just as expensive as a MacBook Pro.

I agree. I used Windows PC's at work for many years in the military and in my civilian jobs. In 2003 I switched to Macs for my personal use without any regret. The features, ease of use, and no technical problems was worth the extra cost. And as leftj mentioned, comparable features on PC's are often just as costly. I'm not crazy about some of the changes, but my one year old Macbook and desktop aren't close to needing upgrading so I don't have to worry about the dangles right now. I might feel differently when I decide to upgrade. But based on my experience with Macs, that probably won't happen for a very long time.

I have seen similar things to this used to clip a bag of rocks to the centre column of a tripod to give extra weight and stability.

Regardless of the original intention, I think jimedge has the right idea. Use it to steady a lightweight tripod by hanging something heavy like a camera bag (or bag of rocks).

I switched to Mac's for my personal use in 2003 and never looked back. My work computers continued to be PC's except for one old MAC that we preferred to keep our most important work on for many years. The PC's often needed the Tech folks to fix a variety of software issues. Conversely, the Tech people disliked the Mac even though they never had to touch it. When the computers needed to be relocated to another location the MAC was the only piece of equipment that "accidentally fell" off the tech cart.
Also, the local camera store/photo processor I frequented for years used Macs. They did a great job for professionals and amateurs for many years. Find the nearest Apple Store and spend time with a sales person. You'll be amazed.

I've had my Tilley TH4-hemp hat for a few years. I like the wider brim to keep the sun off my face, ears, and neck. They wash well. Mine is the beige hat so I suppose it shows the dirt a little quicker. Whichever model hat you select will be worth the money.
