This Sunset over Cayuga Lake in upstate NY, has me ready for Spring, it was taken a few weeks back in Feb.
Or a Chimp chimping !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
CONGRATS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks to all who replied, there was a ton of GREAT INFO on this thread and I learned a lot, It is so nice to have a site where, while opinions vary, everyone who is chiming in is trying to help you make a smart decision, I have been researching based on what I have heard on this thread the last few days so much that my eyes hurt!!!! I have decided to stick with PC, It really has been a big help from this great community, This was a hard decision, like deciding on changing camera brands when you are invested in a lot of glass, Technology moves so fast these days it pays to research and talk with people who are using it everyday, THANKS AGAIN one and all
Thanks, I have a 4gb harddrive backing up files now, The Mac I was looking at the other day was the IMac 27, very impressive, feature wise it seems to be the best bang for the buck unless you are gaming .... Which takes time away from shooting and editing, the only joystick I want to play with resides on the back of my Canon 7DmkII
I am using Lightroom for the file management, I am not sold on Apple, I see so many pro photographers use the Mac, will I be able to collaborate with those using Mac's easily?
Just got Lightroom Photoshop CC, are any of you running Windows ? Looking to upgrade computer, would love to hear your thoughts, Never owned a Mac but tried one the other day and I am considering one, Thanks to all who respond
I bought Tony Northrup's book How to create stunning digital photography and highly recommend the book, it was only about $30.00 and gives you access to videos not on the web, you will have access to the updates for life, shows a lot of how and why without going into a lot of formulas and math.
First pics with new lens

WOW, that is great advice, I will have to rethink the CF card memory, Do you think 8gb cards are the way to go? I will be investing in batteries as well, I have a Canon 7D as a backup, 7D markII is my main camera with plans for a 5D markIV, this way I can have a backup to the backup, I also plan on using using an SD card and recording that separate from the CF card, can't thank you enough for the advice, I know I have a long way to go but I have a passion for the candid shots, two families invite you into one of the biggest days of their lives, you only get one chance to tell the story of that day in pictures, my goal is to have them look back in the later years and be able to re-live that day from looking at the pictures and anyone else looking at it as well, thanks again
I can get about 500 shots out of a 32 GB card, I also carry a 16gb card, I have heard pros and cons of bigger vs smaller cards, I might go to 16gb cards but I don't know if I would go any smaller, I really appreciate your help, I will be reading this section regularly and look forward to reading your posts
Thanks for the help, I have been shooting Raw large anyway, This info lets me know to have at least (3) 32gb cards for the day, there is so much to learn if you are going to do it right, who better to ask than those who do it for a living
Maybe this will make it more clear, are you using Large Medium, Small Raw files? My guess is you are not shooting JPEG or TIFF files, I may be green to wedding photography but not photography, that's why I am trying to learn on the section called Wedding Photography, respect is both earned and received
Learning about Wedding photography, plan on working as as assistant this year, any help would be great
Thanks in advance
The 5D is full frame, the 7D is faster, but it is aimed at a different market, one Canon has been losing in, great camera for that market
