No
you won't have "that" problem but you open yourself up to other problems that are potentially much more serious than a bit of dust.
WWAD?
I think ol' Ansel wouldn't be shooting a wedding to begin with. You couldn't get me to shoot a wedding under any circumstance. It used to be that wedding photographers had to contend with "Uncle Harry" and his nice Nikon F that he barely knew how to use but it looked good around his neck. Today, everyone at the wedding is your competition
everyone has a smart phone with a camera
anyone that shoots weddings must have a secret desire for misery and pain.
Here ya go, hope it helps.
Bad karma most likely caused by loud cussing
"That dirty USB!" Seriously, like other mysteries of the Universe, there probably is no explanation
it just happens.
If you ordered from a NY outlet
lots of luck. Before I order anything online I Google (Store Name)complaints. You'll be amazed how many thieves and scammers there are out there. 8-)
Brokeweb, I think that's cool if y'all are happy with the deal
I did an album cover for a motorcycle one time. :-D I wanted a D7000 but it has been out so long now I guess I'll wait for whatever replaces it.
No need to apologize if you were part of the 1%
I would be applauding you. I'm happy that your dream camera finally came
birthday, Christmas and the tooth fairy all wrapped up together. :D
The good news
you can easily Photoshop that background into submission.
A very nice portrait but the background is fighting with him
especially the busy detail at the top of his head.
IF YOU ARE SHOOTING WITH YOUR REGULAR CAMERA YOU WILL NEED A TRIPOD AND SOME MEANS OF SHIFTING YOUR CAMERA ABOUT THREE INCHES EITHER LEFT OR RIGHT IN ORDER TO GET PICTURES FOR A STEREO EFFECT. THREE INCHES IS ABOUT THE DISTANCE BETWEEN YOUR EYES AND WILL GIVE YOU THE MOST NORMAL VIEW. YOU CAN HAVE SOME FUN GOING WIDER TO SAY, 4-6 INCHES AND SEE WHAT YOU MIGHT SEE IF YOUR EYES WERE THAT FAR APART. YOU CAN THEN GLUE YOUR PRINTS SIDE BY SIDE ON A CARD AND VIEW THEM IN AN OLD FASHIONED STEREO VIEWER LIKE THEY USED A HUNDRED YEARS AGO.
I know nothing about this company but there are several things that should give you pause: No physical Address, No phone number, Read their terms of service carefully and thoroughly at least twice and see if they make you nervous. Do a domain name whois search and see who the domain is registered to. Do a Google search for complaints or praises and see if it yields anything. One thing for sure
if a company is offering "unbelievable" prices you can be almost 100% certain that they are in fact UNBELIEVABLE. My advice is stick with known, reliable companies like Adorama or shop locally and avoid the unknowns.
Photoshop 5 has a method for blending shots
and aligning them also if you shot hand held
and there is also HDR but in both cases you must get 3-5 shots at over and under exposures. A tripod is obviously preferred but isn't absolutely required. If you will Google The Russell Brown Show you will find entertaining tutorials on all of this.
I wouldn't give up on Adorama over one glitch. It's a big company dealing with thousands of customers and you had the bad luck to be one of the rare ones that had a problem caused by a typo. They did send it return airmail after they got it back. I have been dealing with them for years and have always been treated fairly. I'm betting that if you call them and explain your problem they will take care of you. It's just not possible for a company to have several thousand transactions daily and not have one or two fall through the cracks.
If you are scanning prints, negs and transparencies I would recommend the Epson V700 which is what I have. It is a bit pricier than many scanners at around $500 but it is a very good scanner. I would also suggest that you get VueScan scanning software
you'll be amazed with how it will make your scanning life easier.
I'm guessing that we have a wounded warrior paying his respects to some retired flags that are being prepaired for a flag burning ceremony. A very touching photograph.
