I'm not sure what happened to the last notice I got like this from a few months back. I never got the check. But, anyway, I'm looking forward to this moola. Shouldn't be long.

Lucky you. Just think of all the new camera gear you can buy with that money! šŸ˜šŸ˜šŸ˜šŸ˜šŸ˜

Recently retired with a disability. Got some horrific health news last month. Rather than sit around we are traveling.
Need help purchasing a new camera capable of supporting my love of street and landscape photography.
Criteria: 1. Has to be budget friendlyā€¦not lowest and not highest $. 2. Travel friendly meaning light weight and durable 3. Thinking Iā€™d like the camera body then 2 lensā€¦one for street and one to assist with more reach in landscape. 4. Not really into video capabilities. 5. Must have a viewfinder. 6. I have an iPhone 14 pro which works great until it doesnā€™t in bright light when you canā€™t see the screen.
Iā€™m used to low end Nikon DSLRs in the 500 series and canon better point and shoot. My skill level is mid level amateur with on going love to learn more. My existing equipment is beat hence the need to buy something newer.
My goal is to document our travels. I love making Blurb books so the photos are for documenting our travels for the grandkids. I do frame some pictures so definitely capturing quality images is a must.
I have major surgery this coming week and Iā€™m hoping your help will get me motivated to heal more quickly. As soon as Iā€™m cleared we are going until the money wears out or I do.
Sorry if I will not be able to respond to your questions. Hopefully Iā€™ve given you enough to help. I love this site and you all are incredibly giving people. Thank you for all the good tips over the years.
Donā€™t put off that big trip and forget about the $. I want to see the things I have put off for way too long.

Nikon Z50 with either the 16-50mm and 50-250mm lenses or the 24mm f/1.7 in place of the 16-50mm. Great for travel, should fit your budget.

You should read about grandpawā€™s adventures with the z6ii.

Then you should read grandpa's update. His opinion of Nikon customer service may have changed with a subsequent phone call to Nikon. The issue stands about not being able to lock the focus point, and if that is an issue with you, shopper something else.It is not an issue with me when using my Z6II.

I have been collecting equipment all my adult life it seems. I have been very tardy in letting much go. I find I need to do so at this stage of my life -- 74 my next birthday! I want to get down to everything in one or two bags. I have sold on here before with no complaints. I treat all my equipment like babies! Everything I will be listing will be in very good to excellent shape with some items the same as new. Watch for my listings. I will price items very attractively and do not wish to entertain lowball offers.

I will be listing the items over the next couple of weeks.

Thanks for looking. I will do all transactions through PM messages.

Mike, looking forward to seeing your listing. I may be interested in a Nikon body for my son in law. Good luck.

In April of this year, a dealer from whom I previously purchased three vehicles over the years, was contacted about a new vehicle. I went in to the dealer and was told they were not taking orders but I would have to select from something they had in inventory. I told him the trim level I was interested in with options I wanted. I gave him a range of colors. The closest he could come was going to cost $4500 more than I planned to spend for the car. The next step was the value of my trade. I researched KBB, Edmunds and NADA for trade-in values. They came in at $3000 less than the average of the three groups I researched. Their answer was it was the best they could do. Mind you, I had successfully negotiated trades with them in the past. I walked out and bought a different brand from a dealer I had dealt with years ago, ordered with exact options and color I wanted, delivered in less than 6 weeks. The original dealer I visited first called to see if I was still interested in buying a car and I told them I had made a purchase from another dealer for a competing brand. They asked me where the loyalty was. Duhā€¦ā€¦.

I was just perusing the "For Sale" section and noticed that one of our UHHer's was selling a nice Nikon outfit for, what seemed to me, a good price. Another UHHer chimed in and said that he personally didn't like the camera for whatever reason. If you're not interested in the item...KEEP IT TO YOURSELF!! Who cares what YOU think of the item!!! The item is not up for discussion, it's up for sale. Mind your own business. Think of how you would feel if someone did it to you!!! You know you would be ticked off. If you're having oral diarrhea and just have to voice your unwanted opinion, simply PM the person.

I guess some people are so impressed with their own opinions, that they feel the need to chime in with often times worthless drivel. They will also be the first to complain if someone did it to them.Pretty sad!

That's the headline from Digital Camera World!

"Vatican Media (formerly Centro Televisivo Vaticano) is responsible for official broadcasts of the Pope and Vatican activity. It has just reupped its relationship with Sony to upgrade its broadcast system, making use of the manufacturer's suite of 4K, PTZ and broadcast cameras."

So another kudo for Sony.

I am sure Catholics worldwide will all sleep better at night as they learn of thisšŸ˜!

I have more albums by him than any other artist. I liked the easy lyrics and the Caribbean-style music he made. When I lived in Charleston, SC, I planned each year to go to Carowinds Amusement Park on the NC/SC border to see one of his concerts -- I never made it. About ten years ago he played at Hershey Park which is about two hours from my house in PA and my daughter gifted me a ticket for the concert. He didn't disappoint. There was a warm-up group from Florida and then Allen Jackson performed for about forty-five minutes before Buffett came on. When he did the song "It's 5 O'clock Somewhere", Jimmy came on stage and joined in as they did on the recording. I'm glad to have been able to see Jimmy --- he was one of a kind.

Saw him twice in concert - he did not disappoint. Also, saw the Broadway show ā€œReturn to Margaritavilleā€ which he had a hand in as well.

I'm a "Z lens for Z cameras" person. Also, I would feel stifled by a 24-70 lens when I can get an around the same size/weight/cost 24-120 f4 Z lens. The loss of 1 f-stop is not much of a loss at all, as you can bump up the ISO 1 stop and will never see a difference in image quality with your excellent Z7. Those extra 50mm will be well worth it!

My favorite walk around lens has always been the 24-120 f/4, first on my D750 then the Z version on my Z6II. I agree, Z lenses were specifically designed for Z cameras and I have migrated to all the Z lenses I think I need.

Hi Hogs!
You were so helpful to me with my Holy Land trip. Thank you!! I have another ask. I presently have a D500 Sigma 150/600 combo for my wildlife and I use a Nikon Z7 for most other areas. Mostly shooting in church for special liturgies. I Love it! My Nikkor 50mm f1.8 S has helped tremendously with the challenge of the low lights.
I also have an older AF-S Nikkor 24-70 2.8G ED. It seems to work well with the Z and the range would be helpful in the church, which is gorgeous I may add. :) But I am wondering if the new S Line Z24-70 f 2.8S would be more of an improvement? I could sell mine for about $400 toward new.

Why not rent one to see how much difference there is. Also, if weight is an issue, there could be a benefit to the Z lens configuration. Other alternatives may be the Nikon Z 24-70 S f/4, the Nikon Z 24-120 S f/4, or the Nikon Z 28-75mm f/2.8, all of which get pretty good reviews.

I would appreciate any thoughts on the Nikon, Nikkor AF-S 24-120 1:4 G ED, N VR lens. I found a good condition used one for $379. Is this a sharp lens? I want it for a general walking around lens, mainly landscapes and cityscapes.

It was attached to my D750 most of the time for general shooting and I was very satisfied with the results. Now that I am shooting Nikon Z cameras, I acquired the Z version of that lens for my Z6II.

I have had good experiences with them, both buying and selling. They usually give good trade in values. KEH is also first rate for trades.
