Recently retired with a disability. Got some horrific health news last month. Rather than sit around we are traveling.
Need help purchasing a new camera capable of supporting my love of street and landscape photography.
Criteria: 1. Has to be budget friendly…not lowest and not highest $. 2. Travel friendly meaning light weight and durable 3. Thinking I’d like the camera body then 2 lens…one for street and one to assist with more reach in landscape. 4. Not really into video capabilities. 5. Must have a viewfinder. 6. I have an iPhone 14 pro which works great until it doesn’t in bright light when you can’t see the screen.
I’m used to low end Nikon DSLRs in the 500 series and canon better point and shoot. My skill level is mid level amateur with on going love to learn more. My existing equipment is beat hence the need to buy something newer.
My goal is to document our travels. I love making Blurb books so the photos are for documenting our travels for the grandkids. I do frame some pictures so definitely capturing quality images is a must.
I have major surgery this coming week and I’m hoping your help will get me motivated to heal more quickly. As soon as I’m cleared we are going until the money wears out or I do.

Don’t put off that big trip and forget about the $. I want to see the things I have put off for way too long.

I have been collecting equipment all my adult life it seems. I have been very tardy in letting much go. I find I need to do so at this stage of my life -- 74 my next birthday! I want to get down to everything in one or two bags. I have sold on here before with no complaints. I treat all my equipment like babies! Everything I will be listing will be in very good to excellent shape with some items the same as new. Watch for my listings. I will price items very attractively and do not wish to entertain lowball offers.

I was just perusing the "For Sale" section and noticed that one of our UHHer's was selling a nice Nikon outfit for, what seemed to me, a good price. Another UHHer chimed in and said that he personally didn't like the camera for whatever reason. If you're not interested in the item...KEEP IT TO YOURSELF!! Who cares what YOU think of the item!!! The item is not up for discussion, it's up for sale. Mind your own business. Think of how you would feel if someone did it to you!!! You know you would be ticked off. If you're having oral diarrhea and just have to voice your unwanted opinion, simply PM the person.

I have more albums by him than any other artist. I liked the easy lyrics and the Caribbean-style music he made. When I lived in Charleston, SC, I planned each year to go to Carowinds Amusement Park on the NC/SC border to see one of his concerts -- I never made it. About ten years ago he played at Hershey Park which is about two hours from my house in PA and my daughter gifted me a ticket for the concert. He didn't disappoint. There was a warm-up group from Florida and then Allen Jackson performed for about forty-five minutes before Buffett came on. When he did the song "It's 5 O'clock Somewhere", Jimmy came on stage and joined in as they did on the recording. I'm glad to have been able to see Jimmy --- he was one of a kind.

You were so helpful to me with my Holy Land trip. Thank you!! I have another ask. I presently have a D500 Sigma 150/600 combo for my wildlife and I use a Nikon Z7 for most other areas. Mostly shooting in church for special liturgies. I Love it! My Nikkor 50mm f1.8 S has helped tremendously with the challenge of the low lights.
I also have an older AF-S Nikkor 24-70 2.8G ED. It seems to work well with the Z and the range would be helpful in the church, which is gorgeous I may add. :) But I am wondering if the new S Line Z24-70 f 2.8S would be more of an improvement? I could sell mine for about $400 toward new.
