I have more albums by him than any other artist. I liked the easy lyrics and the Caribbean-style music he made. When I lived in Charleston, SC, I planned each year to go to Carowinds Amusement Park on the NC/SC border to see one of his concerts -- I never made it. About ten years ago he played at Hershey Park which is about two hours from my house in PA and my daughter gifted me a ticket for the concert. He didn't disappoint. There was a warm-up group from Florida and then Allen Jackson performed for about forty-five minutes before Buffett came on. When he did the song "It's 5 O'clock Somewhere", Jimmy came on stage and joined in as they did on the recording. I'm glad to have been able to see Jimmy --- he was one of a kind.

Likewise, I nearly have every album he made. He will be missed. Sail away Jimmy!

Jimmy Buffett's concerts were nothing short of a "Happening" and a cherished memory. He brought so much happiness to the devoted crowds. A momentary but wonderful escape from the trials of life. Many sad Parrot Heads today.

His laid back style made him a giant in his class.
What a great loss to so many. RIP Jimmy.

He now gets to.."Cruise on Back Home..."

As he and Alan Jackson so aptly said, "It's 5 O'Clock Somewhere!"

He owned a number of hotels as well. Tan-Tara at Osage Beach MO became Margaritaville and now sports a tropical theme.

My wife’s parents met him in Key West when they were in their 60s, maybe 70s. He was super nice to them, and they alway loved him afterwards, even though they were from an entirely different musical generation.

Fair winds and following seas Jimmy - rest in peace. My wife and I had a Margarita and played “Southern Cross” in your memory last night.

Way back in the 70s, when I went to school in Tampa some of my friends and I went to Sarasota to see the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band. Jimmy opened for them. He was not the right person for the crowd and he was booed off the stage. I guess you can't mix Margaritas with Moonshine.

And in the next 50 years he made enough money to buy Tampa!
