I hate to admit this but any publicity is good publicity.

I always carry two just in case one poops out for some reason (or one gets stolen as happened to me in Barcelona)

The washboard road to the Trona Pinnacles (where they do a lot of filming). My hometown has a lot of roads that shake my fillings loose.

I was looking through some old photos to find something else and I ran across this. I thought I'd share it with you all.

Swede, thanks for the kind comments on my photos. I was watching the Caltrans to learn when Tioga Pass would be open. I figured that they would open it when the snow was cleared from the road but there would be snow every place else. I was right. It was glorious. Of course I live in the desert, so any snow is glorious.

Thanks for your kind comments. I hope you have a great trip over here. I failed to get to Mirror Lake this trip. If you can, try to get there. In June, it should still have water in it and the reflection should be outstanding. Jim

I agree. I am sure my wife wonders why I stop and take a picture of El Capitan every time we go there. Because it is so majestic.

What a great job of photographing this awesome country. It's on my bucket list but since I live in South Florida it is a LONG way from home. It is a very colorful time of year to visit.

I'm headed to South Florida next month to pick some things off my bucket list. So....it can be done. Thank you for these kind comments.

Thanks Jim, you have a great collection of memories to look back on.

Sounds like you have been to Yosemite before. We try to go every year at least once. Sometimes the falls are dry. This time though in May.......WOW.

Ahoy Jim Carr,

I'm happy to see your Tioga Pass comments. I captured my first digital images (Sony Mavica w/floppy disk storage) in that neck of the woods. My favorite feature in that domain is Lake Tenaya.

Your black and white images really captured my attention in as much as I'm finall getting serious about that medium, with added emphasis on infrared captures.

Thank you for a splendid display of our beautiful Yosemite. Nothing I've ever seen in this wide, wide world matches the pleasure I derive from Yosemite.

All the best,

Martin
Ahoy Jim Carr, br br I'm happy to see your Tioga ... (show quote)

Martin, I am glad you liked my BW. I know some people who consider it a waste of time to look at BW. My eye enjoys seeing BW. Thank you for the kind comments. Jim

I'll tell you what. I've got a bad back due to my weight problem. Pictures like this motivate me to drop the weight so I can get out and hike to places like this.

Steve, I did it. So can you. I also tore my medial meniscus in my left knee doing the Sydney Bridge climb two years ago. It is now healed enough that I can do more hiking (with less Motrin). Old age ain't easy.

I like the tree on top of Sentinel Dome. Reminds me of Pebble Beach.

There is actually an old Jeffrey Pine up there that was once photographed like the one on Pebble. However, it has died and has toppled over. I am glad I found that one up there.

That's how I felt. We both agreed to make it a point to visit again in May/June.
