Popular Photography Magazine went under not too long ago. I then decided to Subscribe to a long subscription to Shutterbug Magazine. They went under too. However, I had to contact them, and ask why I was no longer getting my magazines. I was told they went under too, but the remaining issues would be replaced with Outdoor Photographer Magazine. It was done. My subscription has expired, and I received a renewal notice for a 12 month extension for only $14.97. That's an offer I can't refuse. The magazine has a lot of ads, which I don't mind, and some interesting articles. The magazine is not a thick one, as most magazines are not today. This renewal offer, may be offered to those who did not have a previous subscription. If interested.

If you go to Discount Magazines they had Outdoor Photography for $4.97 for the 12 issues

I will be in Florida in a couple of weeks looking for birds to photograph. I will be in and around the Ft. Myers area. Can anyone suggest good places to shoot.
Thanks
Bill

Down load the guide " The Great Florida Birding Trail" it lists all the birding sites in Florida and has direction to each one.

Go a little bit further north to Old Cove Road Cataloochee NC to photograph the elk herd. Was there Monday watching a herd bull protect his harem and bugling up a storm.

I used Discount Magazines to order Outdoor Photography every year for $4.95. It automatically brings up the renewal with that same price every year. The price was locked in about 3 years ago.

I'm pretty good at photoshop -- so I went ahead and fixed your amazing shot and removed the annoying pipe...

Looks great. Will have to dig into Photoshop so I can get this same look.

I have the version 2 of this lens which only costs about $1400 used on ebay. Have used it for baseball shooting from right field (best seat in the house and no fences) with a 1.4 and 2.0 Sigma tele converter. As this lens is the same as the new one except for the dock. On the new one you also have to use the new TC's which are double the price of the older version. Use my lens on a Canon 7Dll and a 5Dlll with a gimbal on tripod.

I was wondering if any UHH members have been to Merritt Island near Cape Kennedy in Florida for bird pictures. How does it compare to Gator Land which has a very large rookery? Input would be appreciated.

Was there Tuesday March 7th. It was a waste of the $10.00 to get in. I had driven 435 miles to waste the money. Last year was the same thing, no water. Three years ago Jan. it was a birders paradise.
Also took in Viera Wetlands down the road 30 miles. Very few birds, mostly boat tail crackles, a few herons. Was there at 6:45 in the morning. Got a nice shot of a doe.

Left south Florida and headed to the Alligator Farm in St Augustine. That had a great rookery with plenty of white herons, egrets, wood storks, spoon bills, and alligators.

My house sits on a small creek with a lot of hardwoods. The bird feeder, squirrels ,snakes, chipmunks, and mice along the creek bring in there fair share.
This one was checking out the bird feeder while in a dogwood tree. The red shouldered was sitting on my garden shed waiting for dinner.
The last young hawk landed outside my sunroom window about 6 ft from where I was sitting with my A6000 that had just come in the mail. (16-50 lens)
They come in year round, in winter you can catch them sleeping after a good meal.

Hello
Looking for some help and feedback. I currently own a 7dmkii paired with a Tamron 70-200mm 2.8. I shoot mainly baseball and hockey. I am looking to purchase a 5dmarkiii and a Sigma 120-300mm 2.8 sport lens. I would appreciate and feedback as to the quality of these products and what kind of results i should expect.
Thanks
Don

I have both the 7Dll and the 5Dlll and the Sigma 120-300 2.8 Version 2. There are 3 versions to this lens. Version 1 not so good, Version 2 is just as good as version 3. The difference is in the price. Version 2 I bought for $1400 2 years ago, Version 3 sells for $3500 new. I use the lens for baseball. barrel racing indoors, horse racing (trotters), wildlife. For wildlife, birds, baseball I use it on a gimbal, for barrel racing I use my 7Dll hand held with this lens. Also can use a 1.4 and 2X converter with this lens.
