What do things look like out your window? These reports seems more accurate than anything I have found on the internet so I appreciate your feedback. I am wanting one more fall color shoot for the year and am undecided as to the area. It would appear that color this year is a bit challenging in some areas...I am guessing the heat. But who really knows.
Thanks!

Dreadful. There is no fall color in Florida (panhandle) trees lose leaves in the spring simply because the new ones push the older ones out of the way. Spring is then the only season where there is a noticeable change. I wish the trees would simply lose their leaves, not for the colors but to shoot (literally) the invasive tree rats.

San Antonio, TX: nothin' much. We have mostly live oaks (they drop their leaves in March/April) and cedar. We do have elm trees that turn a bit gold before dropping leaves in the fall. Also, a bit later we will have flame sumac which turn bright orange and red, but these are more large shrubs than trees. The nearest place for "fall color" in this part of the state is the "Lost Maples" area west of here, but many years it just doesn't get cold enough for the maples to change color.

Green in the piedmont of NC except for our Poplars, which always drop their leaves early. The Dogwoods are just beginning to turn.

Northern Pa. not much color, they say a fungus is affecting the trees, most just turned brown and dropped, there us still a lot of green too,

Northwest Vermont here - All over the place this year! Colors are extremely vivid on some Maple varieties, but every type of tree seems to be changing at different times and most of them are dull. Some are almost bare and others haven't even started to change yet - by far the strangest foliage season I have seen (at least in my area of Chittenden County)
If it wasn't for the very warm temps (I won't complain!) and drought it probably would have been the best year ever! We have a lot of trees that lost a lot of their leaves before they changed. While, still beautiful to witness, not so much for general photography.

I have to say though that this is the first time I have seen so much vibrance in most of the understory. The sumacs and vining weeds are amazing with the contrast of shapes and colors.

I heard that Central and Southern VT has been vivid, but do not know if that is being reported from a 'photographic eye' or a 'simple eye'. Big difference IMO

Wee bits of red and gold outside in Westerly, RI, but mostly green, where I am at about 200 ft. above sea level inside the shore line.

That's a shame, Pine Creek Gorge was so beautiful in the fall.

Northeast PA. The colors are getting better, still a lot of green. We usually peak around the 15th of Oct so its running a week or more late.

I am in Southern California. Palm trees don't change color in the fall.
