Here's a few shots taken recently from what is touted to be the largest bird aviary in the southern hemisphere.

Sorry I don't know the names of the birds.

Lovely set Christine, pip

All are very pretty and enjoyable. After you upload the first three, there is a button at bottom of your post for "add new attachment" when you want to put on more.

Thanks Linda  pip

Had to fight a little wind and rain but it's all good. I just bought this D40 off e-bay in Dec. '12, which all say is a good starter camera. I agree, for now. I shoot somewhere between 75-100 shots in an hour period switching modes, staying out of auto. I've about worn out the pages in the manual to learn how the camera functions. Damn! This is fun!!

Nice shots

Had to take a photo up to the cattle ranch today so just kept going and looked for some eagles. Wasn't long before I found some. There will be a bunch hanging around the ranch in the next couple of weeks as the cows have already started calving. The eagles come in for the afterbirth.

Love "making the turn home" and "not while im eating" great set    pip

Today I tried to photograph sparrows in an attempt to pull their natural beauty out (if they have any). I found the brown coloring of their feathers to be rather vivid. There was no enhancement in pp other than cropping.

I concur great sharp shots

Lovely shots, they're all so different. You have such a large country, with a large variety of beautiful places. 8-) lucky you  pip

This is not very sharp as it happened quickly and I was not fully prepared, but I thought it is a fun shot. When the tern dives and comes up with a fish, he soars up and tosses the fish and catches and swallows it. This fish decided he didn't want that to happen and tried to escape. The tern suddenly dove and did catch it again. I was able to catch the tern diving for the fish. It happened in the blink of an eye

Well caught gregory, more than I can say for him. ;) pip :D

Some of the scenes for the movies "Bull Durham" and "A League Of Their Own" were shot here.

For those of you looking forward to summer, plan a road trip in early to mid-June to the Blue Ridge Parkway in North Carolina and be treated to the flame azaleas in bloom.
