I tend to be conservative and wait before updating to allow time for bugs to be worked out.

I have the latest version of PS 25.3.1 and it fails to open by any methods tried, from the Applications, from Creative Cloud, from a desktop shortcut, or from LrC. In all cases, the result is the same i.e. the PS splash screen appears, disappears and then nothing happens. I tried reverting to earlier versions with the same results. In those cases, it goes through the normal verification check, splash screen and nothing. I restarted my MacBook Air with each modification but without success. I am running Ventura 13.6.3 with M2 chip on my AirBook Air. I am not sure when the issue appeared as I have been using my iMac and not MacBook Air for few months. PS seems to work fine on my iMac. Any clues or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I noticed that some photo workshops suggest specific tipping for their leaders while others don’t mention it. What is a general etiquette regarding tipping? Thank you.

I agree that their renaming is confusing and stupid.

Mike Koslowski, a very good on line trainer, says he’s only going to use the cloudy version from here on out. I’m going do a dive into this and see.

I believe that he retracted and clarified this in a subsequent video:

I use iPad Pro few times for some basic edits. While it's certainly more convenient to travel with, it has its limitations in addition to having a smaller screen. I have used it with Adobe products, Snapseed and Affinity. It lacks ability to use PlugIns like Topaz, Luminar, NIK, and On1 as well as luminosity add ons like Tony Kuyper's. I commonly use one of these plugins as the final part of my post processing workflow. Also, the last time that I've used iPad version of Lightroom, I didn't see the Object as a selective Masking option. I have about 80K images in my LrC catalog on my iMac and I find it confusing and cumbersome syncing images from iPad LR to LrC. I haven't tried printing images directly from iPad to my Epson SureColor P800 and am not sure if it's even possible.

I also prefer the previous format to this one. The current format is like running up and down the stairs.

I (and numerous) others experienced the same problem --i.e., while in LrC, 'right click> edit in> edit in Photoshop', which initiated Ps normally, but the image you were transferring wouldn't appear-- but only when the most recent iteration of Photoshop Beta (Ps 2024) was installed and was the Ps version designated as the primary editor.

One workaround was to designate the secondary editor to (regular, non-Beta) Ps and bounce the LrC image to it rather than the primary editor (Ps Beta). Alternately, the image you were working on could be opened normally --in either Ps or in Ps Beta-- but doing so meant that anything (entering lens corrections, any adjustments, etc., you'd done in LrC would not be applied, so it was as if you were starting on the image from scratch.

What I ended up doing was to access Adobe's Creative Cloud where I then deleted Ps Beta 2024, and re-installed the previous version of Ps B (Ps 2023, which allowed transfers appropriately) which allowed me to transfer/bounce the image from LrC to Ps B or to the regular, most recent version of Ps [24.7]. Then DO NOT allow the next (most recent) update to Ps B; instead, wait for Adobe to address the malfunction --that they're fully aware of-- then DO update with whatever update/fix it is that'll likely soon come.

You did not mention that you had the Beta Ps installed, so presumably you don't. In any event, one possible cure to the malfunction you described would be to similarly access Adobe Creative Cloud, uninstall your current version of PsC, then re-install the previous version (that worked as you were accustomed to).
I (and numerous) others experienced the same probl... (show quote)

Thank you all. Rolling PS beta back to the previous version (24.7) seemed to have resolved the issue.

All of a sudden the LrC function "Photo Edit in Photoshop" stopped working for me. When I attempt this function, PS does open but not my image. I have the latest version of both LrC and PS. I can drag a random image from my desktop into PS and it opens normally. So it seems that there is some issue between LrC and PS. Any suggestions?

Taking a trip to western Canada this fall. Flying to Vancouver. Train to Banff. Then on our own with a car. Any suggestions on best places to visit in order capture the beauty of this region would be appreciated. Thanks. Regards, Art

I am in Banff right now. It’s not the best time for photography due to significant haze from the wild fire smoke. The day we took Banff gondola, you could barely discern town from the top. You should plan ahead and make reservations at many sites of interest. Everything gets booked days or weeks ahead of time. Parking is extremely limited in most places, especially Lakes Louise and Moraine. Private cars aren’t allowed to Lake Moraine, so you need to book a shuttle. Bow Lake, Peyto Lake, Two Jack Lake, Lake Minnewanka, Johnston Canyon are ok for photos. Peyto Lake and Johnston Canyon walks are challenging due to frequent steep paths. Float boat trip along Bow River is interesting.

Only a problem for staunch realists.

People have superimposed things for years. This just makes it so much easier.

Yes, it does look amazing but is also worrisome. It's too powerful and too easy. Swapping skies is one thing but this is another matter. I have nothing against post processing and use it, including PS, myself. But this is beyond post processing. Photographer will be able to take and average or even sub average image and make it into a super image using AI. I think that photography will be changed tremendously.
