I like it but a couple of suggestions: Clone out the bottom bird and some how make the background more cheery Olive is to dark and dreary

The color second one. I find the stick on the edge of the first image distracting

Forgot to say. when going to the North Shore take Farrington Highway not the interstate. The tunnels make an interesting photo but I like the scenery out in the old cane fields. And anyplace you park the rental leave the glovebox and console doors open-my friend had her rental window busted while hiking out to the jump off point. Didn't loose anything but had the insurance hassle to deal with.

I can not say enough things about these people. Take as many of the tours as you can. They will pick you up at your hotel or anyplace in Waikiki and drop you off at hotel or other place. Do not panic if the van is a few minutes late. I have done morning and afternoon tours on the same day. When you are on the North Shore do stop at Dillingham field for Oahu Soaring. Pay the extra$ to go higher and take a polarizer filter for the canopy.

Lanakai is the best beach-I use a memory of it for my meditation. Can get some beautiful sunset mountain pics from Leahi Hospital. There also is a firestation-the name escapes me but I can drive to it on the way up to Byodo-in where you can get some nice pics as well. Now then Byodoin is a place not to be missed. There is also the haiku stairs which go up in the mountains-it is illegal to climb them. I have done it and the views are awesome but the journey is freightening-down being worse than up. 18th street and diamondhead road is the film studio there is a cemetery across the street and a community college behind it. park in either one and walk around the back of it that ground is public property. If you choose cemetery and someone asks why you are there you are looking for the grave of Kam Fong Chun. If you are a Five0 (original not the current cheap knockoff) or MPI fan then write me and I have a list of places from filming.
Chinatown but go early. Can take some harbor pics from down by the coastguard substation-not the postcard harbor pics ;). They pretty much ignore you walking around. I also have some interesting pics of the OCCC they pretty much ignore you til you get by the gate then they don't say to much. Try to get to the palace at noon on Fridays when the band plays for free
As for places to see AlohaJim pretty much summed it up I would add the old Paradise Park waterfall if it has been raining up in Manoa.

All the islands are beautiful but if I had to choose only 1 other it would be Kauai and absolutely take the helicopter tour there. Although with Peles latest fit I would be tempted to say Big Island and a night boat tour out to watch the lava drop in the ocean-its pretty as a trickle can only imagine what it must be right now.

Leave the pole. The mate across the field is visible so removing this one would male the scene look 'funny'. I like the lens flares too. Tone down that one bright light and all will be fine.

GO CUBS!!!

Forgot to mention the scavi tour which takes you under the alter into the papal graves. If you do take that one I suggest you read a new book by John ONeill called The Fishermans Tomb. It will give you a whole new perspective on stuff down there. Worth the read anyway if just for the history and piloitcal intrigue

Yes, can not photo in the Sistine Chapel but everyone does. I took a 'discrete' shot of it and have a beautifully centered photo of the Creation of Adam. Do take a wide angle. Be sure and see the tapestry collection-pay attention to the cat under the table ;) Take a wide angle for sure and a telephoto is useful for stuff in the upper ceiling. The orange dove makes a beautiful closeup. The letters on the wall up there are six feet tall! Also if time permits climb to the top of St Peters the view is worth the trek. True on the tripod rule-they are insistent about that. I am assuming you are a guy-do not wear shorts even the nice bermuda ones will get you tossed in a heartbeat. Women must wear a skirt-I kept a pull on in my backpack. If you are an early riser and have the $$$ there is a tour led by the guy whose job it is to open all the doors called the clave tour. Fast moving but get to see some parts not on the official route. Smart is the person who books that on the papal audience days-wed and sat I believe but don't quote me. Gets you in ahead of the throngs and a front row stand.

I would go with the burger place although it appears a bit 'flat'. For total candid I would go with the fishers

I saw a photo on a travel site that some one had taken of a chair in front of a window. This was in an old house that still had its original window glass and you could see the distortion isn't the right word but not sure what is right. But you can always tell older glass. Is there some thing that must be done or a specific angle to photograph from that will highlight the glass as well as surroundings?
