Rraceing Pigeons.... = 1962 era.... Green Bay, Wi...
Never knew they bathed or swam in water. However they loved water sprinkler — grass — summer.

First one wing raised, then the other.

Very expensive hobby these days . . . with electronic bands on pigeon legs and recorder inside residence when they return through the "bobs", vertical hanging wires created from clothes hangers which allowed them into their roost. Once they enter "bobs"... wires "fell" to vertical position, NOT allow birds to return outside loft.

Although the practice is not yet legislatively mandated, some U.S. companies have established policies and procedures of their own that instruct foreign call center operators to transfer calls back to U.S.-based reps upon customer request.

Marinette, Wi . . . 1950's Quonset Hut Village

https://www.google.com/search?q=quonset+hut+living&newwindow=1&client=firefox-a&hs=nbn&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ei=25jWUtXZOcG9rgGYh4CgCQ&ved=0CAkQ_AUoAQ&biw=1253&bih=535

Returnees from War. . ... delivered milk "glass bottles" to several families using a horse drawn milk wagon. Musta been 150 families living in that area, south side of Marinette.

That's when milk sold for 11 cents/qt. We sold it for 10 cents. No messin' with making change. Especially when it was 20 degrees below ZERO.

I didn't see my 1936 Ford; ragtop, rumble seat, spare tire hanging on back. . . PLUS the three foot long motor crank. Very handy in Northern Wi. winters. Six volt batteries were only good to a certain degrees below "0."

Almost forgot! A South Bend "raw" gas burner vehicle heater hung under the dashboard, rite side. Pull the "knob" forward. Vehicle would go from 30 mph. to 20 mph. The tube that fed gas into the heater got it's source of "gasoline" directly from the "carburetor float bowl" to the South Bend heater inside the vehicle. Leave heater on "hi" more than 5 minutes . . . it would start melting the rubber floor mat.

wow... never see them!

Sauk City Wi is flooded with them... sitting in trees adjacent to the downside of the dam located near the main st hardware store. Mississippi and Wisconsin rivers ice over which forces the eagles to head for open water below the dam @ Sauk City. Behind the hardware is a viewing stand near the edge of the river with huge magnifying scopes - U can see the eagle "blink" an eyelid. Takes just 15 seconds for an eagle to drop from a tree to the river, coast around, do the dive . . . and bingo! Up comes a 2 or three foot walleye dangling in the claws of an eagle. Then back to the tree branch for a five course, 2 hr. meal.

p.s. Dress warm!!! It ain't summer on the river.

Dogs don't realize it. . . and love to hang their head out moving vehicles, especially when riding in the truck box. . .

A friends dog lost an eye that way. Vets see many happenings and warn owners about it.

Let ur friends know!

three of us "White Hats" ... US Navy training center — San Diego..

1956 ventured up there on a Sunday. . . [not quite out-of bounds] Navy Rules. . .

Gas tank on 55 Chev filled... [$73.00] a month pay... No pay parking for "White Hats"; no entry fee; FREE tickets to any ride and food stand. Lost 2 "White Hats" [covers] out of 3 on windy rides.

Back in SDiego.. person with "hat" could enter the base. Two of us . . . . NO NO... "not in uniform!... no cover. . .

I liked the Navy for many years. . . however it seemed that when someone on duty had a badge pinned on and a club hanging from a belt.... they became "Jesus Christ Super Star" . . . with NOOOOOOO Logic.

Kennedy..... let's see . . . . Ah ha! it was 1957 . . .

. . . when John F had a meeting at the Bali Hai club. . don't know with who, however there was a 35 ft. cruiser loaded with 10+ paparazzi shutterbugs... loaded with cameras of all lengths. Coastguard marked off restricted area for small craft not to cross. Navy had a 45' picket boat with "water cannon" patrolling the line. This writer was assigned to "bow water cannon."3" circumference water stream that creates perfect holes in the bow and sideboards on contact . . . all I can tell U is the water cannon did it's job and Coastguard picked up survivors!
