Amazon.com has some good remotes that plug into the 10 pin plug..they are very inexpensive and I have ordered one and like it real well....they are wireless and work to about 40 ft...

I would go for the primes for sharpness and zooms for convenience.........after shooting for 62yrs I have found this to be very true........you choose for your situtation of getting the shot.....
