Thank you for posting these. They seems to be no end of new places around here to see.
WOW! An aerial tour! That would be great! When that happens please share your photos with us. Angel Arch has to be my favorite and I'd love to see your photos of it.
Thank you all for your kind words. It is fun for me to dig back in my old photos because I for sure am not hiking to these places any more. If you can enjoy them with me, that's all the better.
Thank you MauiMoto, Swamp-Cork, Longshadow, Blacks2 and Cany for looking and all kind words. I'm happy to know that you can still get at least part way there by wheels even though I know that can scare the heck out you going over Elephant Hill. I chose to walk that part.
Cany, surely you have some photos of Druid Arch to show us.
When I was much younger (like in 1969) I was privileged to be able to hike to Druid Arch. Back then, it was possible with 4-wheel drive, to get to within a mile or two of the arch. I don't know what the regulations are now, but, for sure, there is a very long trail to the arch. Other than in Park material, I have never seen a published photo of Druid Arch. With the exception of Angel Arch, I would have to say that among the hundreds of arches we have here in Utah, Druid Arch is my favorite. I'm sorry I can't give you blue sky and fluffy clouds, or great skill in post-processing on these old slides, but I hope you enjoy seeing them.
Thank you, Jim, for "taking" me there.
Why aren't you showing us a shot of Druid Arch? I saw it years ago and not even once since then have I seen another photo of it. I know it isn't easy to get to, but you did it. Congratulations!
I'm sure glad you moved Out West and now show us, with new eyes, what we have here!
You are right up there with the master photographer!
This is exciting to get all your opinions and comments and I thank you for sharing them. This is a great forum for learning. I once entered a photo of "human interest" in a contest and received the lowest points possible. I still liked it and entered it in the State Fair where it won Best of Show. I know these photos aren't that quality, but this is a great place for good advice. I appreciate all the advice. Luen
Thank you, James. I appreciate your comment.
Which do you prefer, color or black and white? Or do any of them have any interest?
Thanks, Peter, for showing us the canyon in the other direction. You can see Lava Falls down there and, take my word for it, that it is one big thrill to go over Lava Falls in a rubber raft!
That's a place I've been itching to get back to again, but probably never will. If you have a view in the other direction, please show us that one, too.
Thank you for "taking me back" to those places I love--even going down the Shafer Trail.
