When I was much younger (like in 1969) I was privileged to be able to hike to Druid Arch. Back then, it was possible with 4-wheel drive, to get to within a mile or two of the arch. I don't know what the regulations are now, but, for sure, there is a very long trail to the arch. Other than in Park material, I have never seen a published photo of Druid Arch. With the exception of Angel Arch, I would have to say that among the hundreds of arches we have here in Utah, Druid Arch is my favorite. I'm sorry I can't give you blue sky and fluffy clouds, or great skill in post-processing on these old slides, but I hope you enjoy seeing them.
Outstanding.
, even I have been to Arches many times I never heard of Druid arch, what an amazing structure, at 88 I don't think I will make it there again.
I'll never tire of seeing that corner of my office, fluffy clouds or not, Luen. Thanks.
Its still possible to drive (via the hard-core 4WD road into the Needles backcountry) to within a couple miles of Druid, but the hiking trail that begins at Elephant Hill and continues down to Druid Arch --and/or cuts over into Chesler Park-- is both easier and faster (relatively speaking, of course, depending on one's age.... but let's not go there).

Thank you MauiMoto, Swamp-Cork, Longshadow, Blacks2 and Cany for looking and all kind words. I'm happy to know that you can still get at least part way there by wheels even though I know that can scare the heck out you going over Elephant Hill. I chose to walk that part.
Cany, surely you have some photos of Druid Arch to show us.

Yup, but none that are handy. Slides I'd have to dig through and scan. Haven't been there (to Druid, or even into Chesler Park) since going digital. Last times I've been, I spent all my time camping/hiking west of there, over in Devils Kitchen or Devils Lane or down around Butler Wash. Research stuff, by and large.
It is quite refreshing to see something not PP'd out the YingYang. Apparently people have forgotten what sooc means!
Special looking arch, Luen. Had not heard of it before. Thank-you for sharing.
