Beautiful shot, nice post processing - I need to learn how to do that. Good effort. I went from a D7100, still have it, to the D750 which I love. There is a learning curve with every new camera, but looks like you're well on your way to mastering it. Only comment, don't crop so close to flower, leave som space around it. Nice job!

By any chance do you have a 24-120 f4 and do you like it ?? I haven't decided whether to trade in my 28-300 and get the 24-120 or just keep the 28-300.

Yes, I have the 24-120 f4, it is a kit lens that came with camera. It's my walk around lens - so yes I like it. However, if I didn't have it I would probably have a 28-300 - so much more focal distance. Why are you thinking of trading it in?

FYI, if you decide that you want the D750 new and not refurbished try Greentoe.com. It's a site where you put in a price that you are willing to pay (below retail) and they try to match you up with an authorized US dealer. Got my D750 through them at $100 off retail, free shipping and not sales tax. Actually, came from US dealer in Maine - not grey market, U.S. warranty and able to register with Nikon. They also have a 30 day return policy. Also, bought my Tamron 150-600mm through them and got it for $100 less than retail.

I have the 7100 and about 9 months ago I decided to get the D750. Love it. Only draw back was having to upgrade to FX lenses which can be expensive. But finally have my "trifecta" - Tamron 15-30mm, Nikon 70-200mm and a Tamron 150-600mm G2. You can use DX lenses on th D750 but you loose the advantages of FX. I kept my 7100 as a backup/alternative camera body along DX lens.

NICE! So many photogs pass on B&W especially when shooting flowers - glad you didn't. One suggestion if I may - might crop some of the black at the top of image to put more focus on flowers, maybe cut 1/2 vertical distance on left side from top of flowers Still, this is a printable image and one to be proud of.

You didn't give us any information i.e. country you're in, whether you own home, etc. So try your homeowner's insurance you may be already covered. Try looking online under camera insurance. What's important is that you get Replacement Value insurance, so in the event you have a loss or theft you get enough $$ to replace what was lost. For replacement value, check B&H, Adorama or other retail store. Don't forget to include camera bag, filters, lens cleaner, other accessories you might have. And take photos of equipment and record serial numbers and approximate date you purchased and where (keep receipts if you have them). Hope this helps.

Mike, beautiful shots of one of my favorites National Parks, as always. Glad you were able to go and shoot, even if by yourself. All this backwards shooters, and I'm going to use that term for sure, don't know what they are missing out on. Wishing you continued good health. FYI - I grew up in San Bruno, a Capuchino grad, lived on Hensley across El Camino from library. Looking forward to seeing many more of your images in the coming years.

I have a Nikon d750 and just got the Tamron 150-600mm G2. Sold my Tamron 150-600 G1 as it was soft @ 500-600mm. Really like the new G2. Did research before buying the new lens and researched the Sigma and Nikon 200-500. The Tamron came out on top in most categories. Took it for a "maiden run" and here are some samples. All images were cropped in PP. If you are still undersided then I suggest you rent each lens you are considering buying to test them out. Hope this helps.

Insurance Proposal: $5755 - is this replacement cost. Just checked B&H for new D500 here are prices.
Nikon D500 (Body Only): $1800 Kit with 16-80mm Lens: $2400
Nikon 70-200mm Lens: $2000
So if you got the D500 Kit with 16-80mm plus the Nikon 70-200mm that would be $4400 leaving you $1355 for replacement of any other lens, camera bag, filters, etc. That's not much.
Do your homework, decide what you want, add up TOTAL cost to replace all you lost and show that to insurance company. You should get the best possible NEW camera, lens, etc. Hope this helps. Good Luck!

You've been given great advice by fellow UHHers. One suggestion, you mentioned doing posed shots of bride & groom. Could you do those say the day before when everyone is more relaxed without all the family & friends rushing about wanting to take their own cell photos of the couple being posed by you? These would be photos of just the bride & groom. Then on their spcial day, you can shoot photos of them with family and friends. Nothing worse that trying to get posed photos with other people taking cell phone photos, getting in your shot or their flashes going off just when your shutter goes off and ruining the shot. You mentioned possibly using reflectors - so you will have someone to assist you by holding reflectors - so you will have an assistant then. 2nd camera with other lens is good idea since you said there were other activities like jet skiing which would require telephoto lens, if you can manage it. Don't forget getting photos of bride & groom getting ready. We hired a professional photographer for our casual wedding reception in our home, as we got married at wedding chapel who had their own photographer - he shot casual photos of guests, cake cutting, etc. and his assistant shot photos of rings, cake, flowers separate from him. We were very surprised and pleased with some of the assistant shots that we didn't know were taken. Guess that was more than one suggestion. :-) Just remember - shoot, shoot, shoot and have extra SD card(s) and batteries. Have a great shoot and try to enjoy wedding also.
