I tried and tried to abstain, but I am weak and caved. The truck will deliver the D810 tomorrow. I will go and shoot some hot rods on Sat and see what the results. I use a new Tamron 17-300 w/ macro. It has now become my walk about lens. Does a fine job.

I hate this saying. But.... YOLO

It's a little scary trusting your precious images to this tiny SD card that can get lost so easily. I've been shooting with CF cards for years and now a lot of new cameras have SD cards solely or CF/SD combinations. What's your opinion?

I have both and the only complaint I have is the size of the micro SD. Old fingers and bad eyes. :D Does anybody know why we need 50 pins on a CF card and only 10 on a SD card?

I just tried to use this tool and it isn't working. Worked a couple of day ago. Can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong? Thanks.

If the cap lock is on you will see only cross hairs. Messed me up for a long time. :-D

I have to wonder why I do not see anything but basic photos on this site, when so much can be accomplished using photo editing software.

This, being the sixth time you have visited the site you may not have seen it all yet. Just sayin' :D

I am hoping it is user error, and someone can tell me what I did wrong. If not, I sure hope others think twice about making it their ONLY back up.

I recently picked up another external hard drive for about $130 from Staples. It is a 5tb Drive. That should hold me for a while, but I still prefer to have redundant back ups, so just one large external drive won't cut it for me.

I just signed up for Amazon Prime. The photo storage was part of the attraction. Just starting to figure it out. File size is limited to 2GB.

Here are a few shots from the Birth place of route 66 festival they had over the weekend in Springfield Mo.

Great shots. Must of been a fun festival. I did the Route 66 drive from Chicago to California 3 years ago. A wonderful drive. I'm ready to go again. :D

Was over at the coast (Morro Bay, CA) the other day and saw this strange duck all by itself. Have never seen one like it before. Does anyone know what 'breed' it is?

Looks like when I drink and Photoshop. :-D

Hi Hoggs, has anyone bought from eshoponlines.com?
Any experiences would be a help.

I'm thinking of purchasing a Nikon D750 with 24-120 lens but what FX lens should I purchase next
Cheers

Hmmmm... Eshop--$2000. B&H--$2696. Might be a scam. Read.

We are about to embark on a great trip to the Cook Islands and then on to New Zealand so I'm just messing with the the DSLR that I'm taking (a Nikon D7000) in preparation by taking a few test shots. I also have several underwater cameras because I plan to spend some time on, in and under the ocean there.
Note: Our cat (Jewell) is heterochromic (eyes of different colors) and as one can see, the appature on her blue eye is always more open than the appature on the yellow eye. I have not done the research to understand this, perhaps one of my fellow UHH might know?
We are about to embark on a great trip to the Cook... (show quote)

No help with the eye thing but Jewell sure is pretty. :-)

Does not matter. Focal length is focal length. A 50mm is a 50mm no matter what body/sensor is behind it.

The part of the image circle the sensor USES can change, but the length is always the length.

Here is the big secret: when you look through the viewfinder, THAT is what you get. :-)

Oh sure. Now you tell me. :-)
