I tried and tried to abstain, but I am weak and caved. The truck will deliver the D810 tomorrow. I will go and shoot some hot rods on Sat and see what the results. I use a new Tamron 17-300 w/ macro. It has now become my walk about lens. Does a fine job.

my neighbors think I "own" a big brown truck!!! it seems to be parked in front of my house a lot!!!!!!

I am very glad I got all that out of my system before getting married again 22 years ago. Works right this time and I have some very nice equipment and wife to show for it.

Are you sure that's not the Tamron 16-300mm lens? That lens is a crop sensor lens. You'll want to get full frame glass for the D810.
