Enjoy. I know the feeling "I am weak and caved" all to well. ;)

I tried and tried to abstain, but I am weak and caved. The truck will deliver the D810 tomorrow. I will go and shoot some hot rods on Sat and see what the results. I use a new Tamron 17-300 w/ macro. It has now become my walk about lens. Does a fine job.

Have a safe, and fun, trip. And remmember>>Even a cave-man can do it.

Are you sure that's not the Tamron 16-300mm lens? That lens is a crop sensor lens. You'll want to get full frame glass for the D810.

I stand corrected. T'was a typo it is the 16-300.

This hi lites the sad situation in buying photo gear. Unless you live in NY(God forbid) it is exceedingly difficult to find a store you can walk into and fondle a camera. Walmart, Costco and Best Buy don't count. We are left to look at pictures of cameras, read on-line reviews and one click on Amazon. We now eagerly await the truck.

I have been to "B&H" many times. It is 1 hour from me by train. And Penn Station is about 3 blocks from the "Camera Haven".

The big brown truck just showed up a few minutes ago for me too. Unfortunately it was just delivering a five gallon bucket of roof sealant. Sigh! I guess I better get to work.
