Just how good do you think they had it? Being from Pontiac I can tell you. They lived in modest homes and in the fifties most had just one car. Later, many were able to buy a second car. They did not live extravagantly. Some mothers worked but not all. Big concerns were health insurance, job security and retirement. Times were simpler. They just wanted to provide for their families in much the same way that we do today. Many of the benefits that we have and expect were hammered out by the auto unions in the fifties and sixties.

Federal workers get paid well, have good benefits and good retirement plans. I don't know where you got your information that they're not.

In the 50s most people only had one car. Didn't claim they were rich but they most likely only had one income per family, and if that is so, had options during lay offs and strikes. I hear that many federal workers are making in the 30,000 range (I have not verified this). If I had a 30,000 a year income, I would be homeless.

Little Tommie, had you checked, you would find that the 21,656,200 average well over 50K per year. They make 25 percent more than non federal workers.

Stop lying.

1 - 51 votes doesn’t control the US senate, it takes 60.

2 - The D party most certainly did vote yo build the wall.

That means that many are making less. I have checked out government pay for the work I do, and it is at least 20% less than I consider acceptable. The number I just read for average is 51,000 something, which while over 50, in not "well over 50". How much saving do you think they have at that wage. What do you think it is going to cost us to train new workers if a significant portion of them move on. How safe do you feel flying right now. If we start losing air traffic controllers, the school that trains them is currently shut down.

If that is true. Why are Federal salaries on average 32% less than employees in private industry?

That is a lot more in line with what has always been my understanding. People give up some pay in exchange for job stability (questionable now), benefits, and retirement .

That's a frequent claim. But you forget, ignore or just don.t know that it takes a 60 vote majority to pass a senate bill. The Republicans only had a 1 or 2 vote edge--hardly a 60 vote lead. THATS WHY TRUMP DIDN"T GET THE WALL

Wrong again, as usual. My source was from 2012, so I gauged that in 6 years is was well over 50K. Read the questions you asked, Einstein, it has absolutely nothing to do with the topic.

Who could possibly answer how much savings they have? It depends on how good they are with money. As usual your whole post is "WHAT IF", and ridiculous opinions of yours in a lame attempt to prove you are right. For once try staying on topic.

Try ending a post without telling someone what to do, or not.

Well, I seem to remember the average salary in this nation is about $60,000 per annum. How much do you think government workers make?

I repeat myself, but I remember that the average salary now is $60,000 per year. Is that “well over” 50K per year?

Oh, poor little tommie. Someone apparently has to call you out when you wander down some alley in your convoluted attempt to prove how right you are. And for the record, I will continue to point out when you try and change the subject because you have no answer.

Little Tard, in truth "average" means little. Federal workers make more than the public as a whole. Period.
